Which GoT scenes you wanted to be more like the books?

I wish they would have made Ned’s dream... Ned’s dream. Show the seven versus three. They featured it in the show with Bran and the Three Eyed Raven but they cut out Ser Oswald and took out the best dialogue, especially the lines Ser Arthur Dayne said. Would loved to have seen it in the first season when it would be interrupted by Bobby B and Cersei.
What would you want to see more like the books? Characters that were cut out entirely?

Does all of season 8 count?
Seriously though, they traded in the greatness of the early season’s dialogues, character development, and story telling for a medieval Michael bay knockoff.

So you wanted season 8 to be more like the books... that haven't been written yet?

Cersei and/or Daenerys' lesbian scenes would have been a nice to see.
Wish Darkstar and Strong Belwas were in the show.
He dreamt an old dream

I would have preferred they not take a series built on slow development and cohesive storyline and throw it in the microwave with some fireworks to end it.

Well Tower of Joy is probably the runaway winner when it comes to a single scene.
But the real winner here is everything Dorne.

The writing in the Tower of Joy scene in the books is incredible. The three Kingsguard knights are presented as the baddest of asses. A joy to read, indeed.
For my part, I thought the complete exclusion of the Bloody Mummers from the show was an odd choice. They played a critical role in the books, and without them, other characters had to step in to fill their shoes and drive the plot. Vargo Hoat would have been a neat, if disgusting, character to see brought to life.

Tower of Joy dialogue should not have been changed at all. Should have been word for word.

1) How Littlefinger killed Lysa. They just mention that he had Jon Arryn killed in passing and then he makes out with her. That scene in the books was absolutely epic, where Littlefinger actually taunts her in his own fricked up way about letting Sansa go. It’s when the actual Littlefinger reveals himself for the first time (maybe second after the “I did warn you not to trust me”).
2) Tyrion killing Tywin. Jaime should have told him that Tysha wasn’t a whore and Tywin forced him to lie about it. It is simply stupid Tyrion tries to kill Tywin because he sentenced him to die. Keep in mind that Tywin sent Tyrion to the front lines in Season 1 in hopes he’d be killed. Putting Tyrion in precarious situations on the hope he’d be killed is nothing new for Tywin.
Tyrion finding out that his life had really been a lie and that Tywin was every bit of the deviant as he was is what broke the camel’s back. Shae should have just been murdered by Tyrion instead of her trying to kill him first, and I can’t believe they removed Tywin’s words of “Wherever Whores Go” as one of his immortal last words was just dumb. Additionally it should have been juxtapositioned with the episode of “The Watchers on the Wall”, and then have Tywin’s funeral in “The Children”. Like imagine if you see Wildlings break down a door, the camera then goes to first person perspective with someone running down a hallway with a torch, all to reveal Tyrion behind a door with Jaime holding the torch. That was a real missed opportunity by the writers, and instead we spent a shitload of time just chilling in a cellar with Sam, Gilly, and Janos Slynt.

Exactly. Such an easy scene to transpose, you just have to do the dialogue word for word. Not sure what they were thinking.
“We were not there,” Ser Gerold answered.
“Woe to the Usurper if we had been”
Vs
“We weren’t there.”
“Your friend, the Usurper, would lie beneath the ground if we had been”

The scene in the show felt like some fan tribute video a bunch of teenagers would make

As much as I hate the Tower of Joy, it doesn’t radically change things on the show. Tysha not being a whore does.

Good point, when Jamie tells Tyrion the truth, Tyrion gets so pissed it sets a lot of things in motion for House Lannister.
-tells Jamie "Cersei is a lying whore, she's been fricking Lancel and Osmund Kettleblack and probably Moon Boy for all I know."
-lies to Jamie says that he did poisoned Joffrey
-then he gets Varys' crossbow and kills his father

“Our knees do not bend easily.”

“The kingsguard does not flee”
“Then or now”
“Then or now”

It is hard to believe we went from that to season 8.

Everything with Winterfell in ADWD.
Mance as Abel with the spearwives fricking wrecked shite, and the wedding scene with Wyman Manderly should have been so much better and more fitting retribution for the Red Wedding.
Plus, I’m a firm believer in the Mance = Arthur Dayne theory, so anything with Mance deserves great reverence imo.

The egg wanted me to post that not seeing Val was his biggest bone to pick with the show.
