Funny how ex players CAN NEVER be x's and o's gurus even though they know the game more than some student manager that couldn't make it passed rec league ball...

how do you even believe such nonsense

Howard isn't a fit.

What Penny is doing would never be allowed by Holier than Though Michigan alumni. According to Michigan alumni Greg Popovich isn't welcome to coach there because he once beat Michigan in a recruiting battle.

So Howard will help recruit inner city Detroit and Chicago which are all players that have handlers who Beliene wanted nothing to do with?

Howard is the polar opposite of Penny. Penny came up through AAU and recruiting connections. Howard came up in the NBA and his strengths are X's and O's and player development.

Comparing Penny and Howard because they're ex-players is lazy. Penny has significant questions about coaching, but can recruit his arse off. Howard is the opposite.

legacy guys?
Howard isn’t a legacy guy. He’s a six-year NBA assistant. He’s qualified to be a college head coach. We’ll find out if he’s good.

Who cares? Do you really want Lebron's opinion on who should be head coach anywhere?

As a Miami fan a certain real estate mogul said the U had to hire Mike Leach or else we would regret it.

This hire is closer to Pat Ewing's hire than it is to Penny's hire.

Chris Mullin 2.0

The only reason St. John’s is even relevant is because of Mullin’s days as a player. They are just another Catholic school in the NY area.

And he wasn’t that bad an HC.

They were good in the late 90s/early 2000s.

He’s been awesome. The recruiting, and his bench hires have been fantastic.

Was great to see him get so pumped when his son scored.
