Bran's main purpose is to give us more information about the Night King and to confirm Jon's identity through his visions.
In the books, this has a lot more impact over time and is gradual (giving us clues as we read that are revisited with more clarity). In the show, it's sort of blah and lame for that to be his purpose.

Here is the spoiler...Bran has been secretly warging into animals with breasts so he can creepily caress them while warging. He will warg into something with big knockers, and Robyn Arryn will start nursing on them...it will freak Bran out and he will have a warg stroke. That's how he dies...the interesting part is...the stroke will make his eyes roll back in his head, so nobody will know when it is happening.

I sincerely hope they have him pulling strings behind the scenes like Tywin did with the red wedding. Maybe he's been practicing how to warg into bigger and bigger animals.
