I've updated the OP to reflect the new assignments that came out today, and to remove transferring players.

Toups is batting .333/.500/.556/1.056 in 36 plate appearances for Danville. Looks like a good lefty hitter to get in the lineup next season.

A couple of guys made their summer debuts over the weekend.

CJ Willis went 2 fo3 yesterday with a triple, a SF, and a couple RBIs.

Rye Gunter threw 1 inning. Gave up a hit to the first batter, then induced a double play and struck out the next guy. Promising outing for him.

I'm probably going to go check out Bianco Saturday. Interested to see where they have him playing.

Kramer hit .200 and .220 his first 2 seasons at LSU before doing a 180. There are a lot of parallels between Kramer and Hal. Hopefully Hal continues the same career trajectory.

Kramer and Hal had completely different high school careers.
One was a stud in high school, the other was average.

He's a position player, middle infield, so the recovery time may be shorter, I don't really know. I was expecting that he would redshirt, so I was surprised to hear Ben say on the broadcast that he would be ready to go next season.

I really don’t see him redshirting. I believe he has a legit chance to see major PT.

haven't found his spot yet. I thought he was on the post season roster though.

He wasn’t for the Regionals but was on the roster for true Super.

Believe the decision to allow LSU pitchers to particpate in summer league baseball after last season was a wrong one. I recall seeing reports the LSU pitchers were doing great, but IMO the strain on the throwing arms was too much. Plus LSU Baseball should stay away from recruiting pitchers out of HS struggling with injury. If they were hurt in HS, they will be hurt in college.

As you were.

We're only sending 2 pitchers out for the summer, not counting the incoming JUCO transfer who hasn't yet thrown for his summer team.

Costello is relatively new to pitching (compared to other guys on the roster) and could use the innings to sharpen up. He's got good stuff, but needs the work on being able to keep it in the zone.

Gunter threw less than 10 innings for us this past season. He also needs game action. He's a candidate to be an "out of nowhere" contributor next season based on the way he finished this year, striking out a bunch of guys and touching the mid 90s with his fastball in Hoover.

There would be some merit to the argument if we were talking about Marceaux, Henry, Fontenot, etc. But when guys don't get game action during the season, they need live innings in the summer for development.

Chase Costello was activated today for the Kokomo Jackrabbits, so he may see action soon.

CJ Willis is starting off well for the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters. He's got a home run and a triple against only 2 strikeouts through three games.

Rye Gunter had another good showing yesterday in the PGCBL, getting a win in 1.1 innings of relief. He's got a 1.29 WHIP and 2 Ks in 2.1 IP.

Cade Doughty has been the best of the incoming freshmen so far, but all 4 have done well.

None of the players in the Cape Cod League have been activated yet.

I saw a video on twitter of him hitting a bomb.

His swing is pretty as hell

Would love for Willis to develop into a reliable starter with some power. I think he would be a really good left fielder.

Hal Hughes and Daniel Cabrera have been activated for the Harwich Mariners. We should see them starting their summer season this weekend, possibly as early as tonight.

The other guys going to the Cape will probably be activated soon as well, maybe even today.

ETA: Gavin Dugas has been activated for Yarmouth-Dennis.

Any word on why Saul Garza still hasn’t been activated for the Cape league? I can’t find his stats anywhere.

I haven't seen anything as to why he hasn't been activated yet. I think he went home to Texas for a bit, based on what I saw on Twitter the other day. But it looks like he's still planning on playing in the Cape, so I guess it could be any day now that he starts.

ETA: Also, after one outing Chase Costello is no longer on his summer league team.

I have some friends connected to Chatham and they told me they were expecting Garza this weekend. This was as of this past Sunday.

I was told he got here to Baton Rouge this past Monday. He had a Doctor's appointment on Tuesday to take an X-Ray on his foot to see if they would clear him to play. The last 3 weeks of the season he was playing with a broken big toe on his foot. I was told he flew out yesterday to the Cape.
