I didn't know this was a thing.

Few bottles I've recently enjoyed. French wine is my favorite.

Bumpity bump.

Brunello continues to be a favorite of mine. Frescobaldi is such a great wine producer. This is no exception to either of those statements.

Great thread.

Got home from Honeymoon a few days ago where we visited four vineyards, three in Willamette and one in Columbia Valley.

Thanks to wedding gifts we now have all of this wonderful crystal seen in the background.

Her grandfather gave us this bottle last Christmas after we got engaged. We plan to share it with friends on Saturday:

Tomorrow we’ll be bringing these two to friends dinner ($11.50 and $14.99 respectively):

Haven’t had this one in about three years but I think I’ll still like it. We typically like Sangiovese and this one is 80/20 Sang/Cab

Bought this two Thanksgivings ago. I didn’t dislike it, but wouldn’t drink it outside of Thanksgiving or Christmas.
I associate the taste with a festive mood.

A few fallen soldiers from a dinner I attended a few weeks ago. The 2000 Beaucastle Chateauneuf Du pape was the main event along with a 05 Latour Puligny Montrachet

Yeah, Frescobadi is awesome stuff. I've been more into obtaining bottles lately than drinking wine. I'm more of a red wine guy so in the summer I drink more beer.

Awesome thread...just noticed it. Tonight with my steak I had Amor Fati Syrah 2013 vintage from the Santa Maria Valley in California. Spicy hit on the front and dark fruits on the back...just like a good syrah should be.

Lovely monovarietal Cabernet Franc from Bordeaux, to accompany a solid pork dish.

Very economical, hollow in a good sense (I prefer French and Spanish wines, to Italian, US and South American, which tend to be of a thick, soupy style), and very tasty (in spite of cab Franc being considered a low Calibre grape which is highly impregnable and devoid of character if alone).

Nice, can’t go wrong with a left bank and a pork dish.

I’m anticipating power outages all weekend and plan on opening a few bottles of CDR while burning a few pieces of chicken and pork chops in my freezer.

Took someone’s advice on here and bought a few bottles of Bogle Phantom. It’s jist as good as Scouts Honor and way cheaper. Very good recommendation.

I love a good Cab Franc. Some of my favorite Bordeaux's are majority Cab Franc's with some merlot blended in.
