100 miles? You can see kings landing from dragonstone practically

They literally had a military expert say it wasn't as bad as it has been made out to be based on facts on the ground.

But... That they should've been prepping for weeks. The dothraki were horribly misused. Etc.

I read the link posted, it was someone at some army academy. Don't know if he's actually anyone of note or not.

He said that given the circumstances and approximate era/experience of the fighters, it was a reasonable plan.

Yeah, but the killed those guys off.

Robert, Ned, Robb, Tywin, Drogo, Stannis, Barristan, etc.

We're left with the wise-cracking teenagers, an aging prom queen and a dwarf who isn't nearly as smart as he thinks he is.

100 miles?

Actually, it's about 100 miles from Dragonstone to Sharp's Point, then another 330 miles from Sharp's Point across Blackwater Bay to King's Landing.

The show has compressed scale for a lot of things, but those would be the distances for the ASOIAF novels.

They were well hidden. I mean:

OR, maybe not?!?

Your screenshot is being less than honest, they were most likely behind Dragonstone and came around the island to be in that screenshot you posted after they shot her down.

LINK

Looks like they could of used the cliffs of the island to hide from her in the air, but something like that to be that deadly accurate for 3 out of 3 harpoons of that size, you would need to be right on top of the target. No way was she that close. They wanted a dragon dead and made it easy on themselves.

I hate to agree, but there tactics have been so bad the past few weeks, I don’t care if they win or not because they don’t deserve to win.

Last week, they should have been at the Twins or at least Moat Caitlin to slow down the NK’s army. And sending in the cavalry first is kinda dumb, like being outside the wall at all.

Now, you take your army on sea which is the one place you don’t have superiority without any recon. Dumb. And Dani want to fight instead of siege. Again, kinda dumb.

I guess they are playing up the mad queen angle so Jon can die during the war and she can change her ways and try to be more like Jon so they can finish her arc. But the battle decisions have been atrocious.

Throwing light cavalry ( dothraki) headlong in a frontal attack against a much larger and unseen opponent was lunacy.

When you go dove hunting for the first time, you should bring a shotgun, not a rifle. But if you use a rifle against doves in flight you won't hit them. If you use that rifle while in a boat on open water, you'll probably be a bigger danger to the people around you.

You never send a mounted unit into a horde that has you outmanned in the manner the Dothraki were outmanned.

Cavalry is effective against formations, and thin lines. Cavalry is not going to work when there is a giant horde. They wasted what could have been an effective fighting force.

The Dothraki should have been positioned to guard a retreat in the event Winterfell fell.

But tonight, was just bizarre. How was Sansa the only one with even a hint of common sense?

"hey, we just fought the biggest battle ever and lost most of our army and our nuclear options are extremely damaged... But, hey, lets march and sail 1000 miles to another battle just as big a day later."

Then, let's set sail to a base about 100 miles from the enemies front gate.

What would resting your army for a month or so hurt?
Yea, that's kinda the point. Dany calls the shots, and she isn't thinking clearly.

That's literally the point you were supposed to take away from that.

You have Bran who can be at any place at any time in the past and you don’t use him to listen in on Cersei’s plans before you make your own?

They don't have the budget for that many episodes.

Or to roll up the enemy's flanks once they attacked your formations.
