I’m just so freaking glad it’s in Austin and not some neutral site. I love home and home series. I can’t wait because they did play some good football last year, I just think they are vastly overrated

You'll be downvoted to eternity because it is the rant and LSU is gospel regardless of how stagnant and bottom tiered their offense has been the last 6 seasons.

Last year showed promise but LSU was still ranked #10 out of 14 SEC teams in total offense last year.

I approach every year the same. I'll believe it when I see it. Thus far, I've been waiting a while since Mettenberger left.

All this offseason talk is just that, talk. Let's temper expectations of this new offense until we see LSU with a small lead in the fourth quarter and how many times we play it safe and run quarterback draw instead of trying to put more points on the board.

That 4th OT possession vs A&M down 3 with the ball first and goal at the 7 yard line was the most pathetic, scared, no nuts possession I have seen in a long time.

Coach O sure talks a good game concerning an aggressive offense in interviews, but with the game on the line he goes soft against Notre Dame and A&M.

So come back in September if nothing until then is going to convince you. In the mean time people are going to discuss it and get excited, because that's what the off-season is for.

Fair enough.

I have no idea why some of you hang around here if the mood of the board perpetually offends you,

Its not me whos offended. Its a bunch of others who call people out for expressing the slightest bit of skepticism. Skepticism thats well earned, by the way.

quote:

No one gives a shite that you're taking a wait and see approach.

Likewise no one gives a shite that others are blindly and completely buying-in.

Look, theres nothing wrong with getting excited about the potential of a new offense but theres likewise nothing unexpected or unfair about being cautiously optimistic.

Theres nothing wrong with statements like -

"Man, Im super excited about the new hire, Joe Brady! He looks like he brings a lot to the table and hopefully we see his fingerprints on this stale offense. Cant wait to see an exciting new offense!"

Unfortunately, for every post like the above there seems to be one of these -

"Joe Brady and Ensminger are going to wreck shop! Theyre going to break all kinds of records at LSU. Theyre going to make Joey Burreaux the best LSU QB of all time. Better than Rohan Davey. This is the year LSU topples Alabama. Bookmark it and suck it you fricking negatigers! Come back and eat crow in November, bitches! "

So you think Alabama treats the Arkansas games like they treat the LSU games?

LSU scored 0 points against Alabama last year

Didn’t know that before today. Thanks for starting a thread to share. Definitely a topic that hasn’t been discussed yet and 100% not something that has been beaten to death

LSU lets Bama get into their heads too much. Just relax, prepare like any other week, and play football.

No.

Which is why I said,

Since many feel(I dont) that Alabama is the road block to LSU taking the next step -

Again, LSU needs to be worried about the other 2-3 teams they lose to every year before they concern themselves with Alabama.

If LSU was going 11-1 every year with the lone loss to Alabama, then it would be different.

Dude, go frick yourself.

You didnt even read the rest of my posts on the thread or view my OP with objectivity.

Nothing about being cautious equates to being a 'miserable human being'.

Yall are so completely over the top with some shite.

I just love how people downvote a post filled only with facts.

Everyone knows our offense has struggled in recent years, and particularly against Alabama.

Nothing to downvote here, children. 2+2=4. Maybe it will be better this year, but my hopes have been dashed before. We're all hoping for better, but let's wait until we see it on the field.

Answer to what? He's never been a college offensive coach before. He's in fir a rude awakening in the SEC.

If you mean the same 2-3 teams, then no. Thats not what I meant. Thats actually the problem. We think we are better than we are yet we manage to lose to 2-3 different teams every year. Its not like we are awesome and theres 1 or 2 teams that run wierd shite we cant defend like Army/Navy or like SPREAD AND RPO OFFENSES DO TO ALABAMA.

Ironically, LSU has been great at defending those offenses. LSU smothers teams like Oregon, West Virginia, Ole Miss, JohnnyFootball, Tebow in his prime, etc. Thats probavly why a lot of LSU fans think those offenses dont work or wont work in the SEC. What you dont realize is that other defenses not named LSU have a lot of trouble with those same offenses.

I disagree. They have a very good QB and they've had the no. 3 overall recruiting class each of the last two years. They're on the upswing.

And the game is in Austin. It won't be easy.

So what you're saying is not concentrate on beating Alabama, the best team in the conference, but put all the energy into beating everyone else?

Sounds like a losers plan. Clemson did it just the opposite of what you suggest.
