frick no. They aren’t in the goddamn Marines.
I’m shocked at this from you. Changes a lot.
I’ve not hired folks who don’t good manners in my opinion. They’re going to work in customer service, so it’s important.
Differences exist, though.

Yes, I taught my children that courtesy and my grandchildren are respectful that way as well
Well behaved grandchildren means you did your job as a parent well.

I raised all of my children to be polite and respectful. I did not however raise them to say ma'am and sir because I travel a lot and it is not the norm outside of the south. All of my children travel/have lived abroad/didn't stay in the south so I am glad it is not a habit for them. I grew up with it as a habit and had to break it for my career so I did not think it was important to make my children do it.

When I lived in Chicago I got asked all the time if I was in the military because of my ma'am and sirs. I thought it was normal to be that way.

Says the lady that LITERALLY has madam in her user name.

I didn't endure switchings for saying "yup" as a kid only to not pass down the same manners.

I say ma'am or sir to basically any adult I'm speaking to that I don't know personally and I'm 52
Posted on 5/3/19 at 6:45 am to Perfect Circle
I don't make my kid call me sir but she does to other adults
