Is monogamy still a thing among 30 year olds?

Sometimes I feel like I am, and my wife is (no pics, and hopefully is) in the minority when it comes to people in their 30s who are married and aren't cheating on their spouses.
It's like an epidemic of late. People I consider friends and people I just know of. Some who are getting busted with 2, 3, and 4 different people. Some who I always thought were a player/hoe, and some who are truly shocking when I hear about it. Mostly people with school-age kids.
And I'm not taking one-night stands with the chic at the hotel bar while traveling on business. Multiple encounters, with people in the same area where they live, getting busted by phone calls, texts, and people slipping up their cover.
I get married life is tough... people change, not a lot time to spend with your other half, etc. But this is widespread.
And the craziest thing is... very few of these are resulting in any sort of separation. I guess people are very forgiving these days!

Do you think boomers didn't cheat?

I blame Millennials. No one used to ever cheat or sleep around with multiple people

Cheating has been going on for generations. It just SEEMS more rampant because it's a lot easier to get caught these days: Cell phones, saved text messages; social media, etc.

Maybe that's part of it... as that's how most people get caught these days.

Being 100% honest here....it sounds like you need better friends.

Just like everything else, it was probably easier to get away with than it is now

Also easier to air your dirty laundry via social media as well, making it seem more rampant to us non-trashy people

Stop hanging around trashy people.

Financial issues is the number one factor to unfaithful marriages. Everyone wants to be someone else now, thanks social media. Lesson for all you folks hoping to settle down one day, don't marry someone poor.

I blame Hallmark.
Seriously. There is this misconception that if you are married life is supposed to be always rainbows and sunshine. That you should be attached at the hip and the Stepford Couple. It's bullshite. Two people will never see eye to eye on every single thing. Then there is a disagreement. Then because people are so sensitive, they think one disagreement means they must not be in love and boom, that opens the door to cheating because that new infatuation feeling is something they once felt for their partner.

Most of the people I've known who are doing this are not people I would consider "friends"...
It's parents of kids in the school, neighbors, people at the ballpark and dancing school, etc
