I think I’ve figured out why people have a hard time respecting captain marvel

The problem is even though it’s fiction we as humans can’t help but try to rationalize and almost put us in the situation. And when you see someone like Chris hemsworth or Chris Evans you a physically imposing figure. When you see a small woman physically beating bigger people up our minds can’t grasp it. Obviously it’s because of her powers but it’s still hard for us to grasp at a basic human instinctual level

I just think she is unlikable.
Give the Rock her haughty attitude and he doesn't have a career.

I think its because I quit being entertained by comic books when I was 12.

Explains how Buffy the Vampire Slayer became a cultural phenomenon.

She used weapons and was fast, cunning not over powered super human who just run right through all the vampires she faced

oh wow that took all of 2 seconds to disprove.
Maybe Brie Larson just rubs people the wrong way on and off screen.

I dont think that's it. What?
I dont think it's anything that Brie Larson is doing neither shes a great actress. I think theres something off with the direction and how they are portraying her. Not really relatable in anyway. Wonder Woman didnt have this problem and I had no issues with her.

Wait what? There were a ton of complaints about Gadot looking way too tiny to wreck shite.

This. I liked her from 21 jump street until she started promoting Captain Marvel. every interview with her she comes off really canty.
I may not like ScarJo’s politics but she has a fun, if not normal, personality off camera. No idea about Gal Gadot’s politics but she seems like a sweet gal. Brie Larson just comes off like a B.

Meh. People didn’t really have a problem grasping it for Wonder Woman. Captain Marvel was just the next iteration of Marvel being political and diversity focused after Black Panther. People are hypersensitive to the politics of Hollywood, so for some she was going to be unlikable simply because they didn’t want to follow Hollywood’s agenda. All the people that eye rolled at Black Panther being the “first” black super hero, and were told that all previous super hero movies weren’t as virtuous because they stared a straight white male, just hated the next iteration of that same stupid Twitter drama. They are uncomfortable with those people being happy about Captain Marvel being some sort of “achievement”. Brie Larson’s comments about how the movie wasn’t for white guys really reinforced all those suspicions for people.
I for one don’t care about the political agenda, I don’t let it impact my experience even if I hate their politics, and like Captain Marvel just fine. I find her just as compelling as Black Panther or Doctor Strange at this point. I loved her entrance in the final battle, I love how she’s just as strong as Thor and I loved the female montage(even though I wish Evangeline Lily was in it I wanted to see her frick shite up with the same sexual energy she fricked Sawyer in that cage with).
I think Brie Larson would be better served with a more comedic angle in the movies going forward, but otherwise I can grasp her powers just fine.

Which isnt really a valid complaint at all.

It has nothing to do with gender stereotypes or sexism. It all boils down to one thing: The character is meh ....and it's a bit annoying when instead of fixing that genuine problem, people call you names and accuse you of hatred you don't have.
It is trying to make "fetch" happen and then demonizing anyone who won't say "fetch."

Captain Marvel was an ok film. It wasn’t great or terrible. I mainly don’t like the direction the character is headed because they are overpowering her. She is nowhere near the power level of a Rune King Thor—which has been suggested Hemsworth was at the end of Ragnarok and in IW—yet it seems to be that is how they are making her. And it’s pretty obvious why.

Her being a Feminazi bitch doesn't help.
Wonder Woman was awesome without doing any of that.

I disagree. They didnt have her do anything that Thor and the Hulk could not.

Meh she's fine as a character. A little cocky sure but I liked her in Endgame. The hate comes from a vocal minority who are still pissy about her comments from a year ago

That is very few. The majority see past that and are still having trouble with the character.

She didn’t say she didn’t want white guys to watch a certain movie, but she did point blank say that she didn’t care for them to share their opinions about it because the movie “wasn’t for them”
