It is set way in the future and is a utopian society. They probably had found a cure for the gay by then.

As science advanced they found a startling discovery.

Exactly, the homo gene was correctable well before the Star Date calendar was even implemented.

I gave up on Trek in the 80s. They were going PC even then w/ the black Klingons ("They had him saying things no real Klingon would ever say!" - - Rev Jim)

A 1968 episode of Star Trek, "Plato's Stepchildren",[2][13] which first aired on November 22, 1968, is often referred to as the first interracial kiss on American television. This claim is disputed by some who contend that in the scene in question, full lip contact between William Shatner and Nichelle Nichols did not occur, as the actors turned their heads away from the camera at the last moment to present the illusion of a kiss, meaning that this scene was not a true kiss.[14] The latter point has been disputed, with Shatner claiming that he and Nichols' lips never fully touched and Nichols asserting that the kiss was real.[15]

That group does not typically reproduce. There is no historical significance.
You may as well say, why are there no colorblind heroes? What important things have the colorblind done for history? Why are there no colorblind people in Star Trek?
Nobody cares. It isn't important.

Very queer and very stupid

As an ex-Borg drone, Seven didn’t understand social conventions — so why was she automatically heterosexual?
Hmm...kind of sounds like they are implying that it's a choice, which is antithesis to what is usually put forward.
quote:
If she’s a drone why would they create breasts and a vagina for her? It seems like a pointless endevour, why give drones a sex or bother making them humanlike at all. Interesting.
You don't know your Star Trek and Borg, do you?

I think they will have long since understood the important genetic role that homosexuality plays in population control.
If anything, as the population of Earth continues to rise the homosexual gene will only evolve to become more widespread. So congrats on future queer grandchildren, I'm sure like the rest of the OT you'll be very loving and supporting of their lifestyle

Epigenetics is a fascinating thing.

You’d think with all that technology they’d be able to cure homosexuality

Except that the places on this planet that are actually seeing population increases instead of decreases aren't exactly friendly to homosexuals....
Sure, maybe there will be more homosexuals. They'll just be tossed off buildings, stoned, shot, etc. in larger numbers.

Except that every Star Trek series besides ENT take place 250+ years in the future, by which time stupid things like religion will have been left behind as they have no benefit to modern society.

I loved the original Star Trek series as a kid in the 70’s. It fascinated me

You might want to pay attention to the history of the areas I’m talking about. If you think they’ll be any closer to modern than they are now, you’re naive as hell.

Star Trek also takes place after much of the earth is devastated by a nuclear war.
But if you think that society will remotely resemble what it is today after another 250 years of technological advancement then I think you're the one who is naive.

Because organisms that reproduce sexually are heterosexual unless / until molested or otherwise traumatized.

She was a borg drone though, did they reproduce sexually ?

Star Trek is responsible for fricking up all of the country's healthcare so bad even Bones can't fix it
And frick Obama and the Democrats!

The Borg did not reproduce sexually. From Seven of Nine herself:
quote:
As Borg, we had no need for seduction, no time for single-cell fertilization. We saw a species we wanted, and we assimilated it.
