So, I have been told Griffin has talked to Jrue three separate times already. No clue what they talked about but lets imagine AD is traded and Jrue is the guy. Griffin goes to him and asks, "What kind of players do you want around you? Any specific names or types of players?"

Based on what you know about Jrue, what do you think he would want? Who would he value? And what would you personally want to put around him if he was the guy?

1) A Point Guard next to him that can create and hit 3s so the ball is out of his hands, freeing him up to be...him.

2) Another player with elite potential on the defensive end, particularly at the 3, to take pressure off of him guarding big guards and Forwards.

3) Players with hard work ethic that will take the game as seriously as he does.

In one ideal scenario, Jrue with Morant and Tatum would be :jump1:

Team first guys, a pass first PG, a rebounding 4, a competent 3. Jrue seems like a guy who thoroughly enjoys team basketball. Give his druthers I would assume he would want others around him with that same mentality.

Players that are invested on getting better and bust their fricking asses. He wants effort above all else.

If hes the guy, and AD is traded. I want:

Bigs that can switch so he can trade off the pick and not be gassed at the end of games
3Nd wings
And really above all else a point guard that knows how to distribute and can shoot slightly above league average from 3

Making Holiday "the guy" is a bad idea.

He can be the face of the franchise, he can be your captain, but on the court he's a support beam, not a cornerstone.

Jrue doesn't want to play point, but he doesn't shoot well enough for a 2.
