A neighbor saw one yesterday and took a pic as well. First one I’ve seen in a long time

Looks like infested 70’s brick on a classic 3 BR/2 BA ranch style house to me.
Those 70s ranch style houses are 10x better built than most of the cookie cutter subdivisions being thrown up now. We've lived in both and it isn't close.

Yep. Pulled all my floors up after the flood and there wasn't one single crack in the foundation. House is Rock solid. More studs than required, and it's all good kiln dried wood. big overhangs outside and completely brick all around. My 70s home has held up better than my mom's house that she had built in 2005.

We live in an all brick remodeled 70s house. Previously lived in a stucco cookie cutter newly built house. The quality difference isn't even close.

Yep.
My roof deck is 100% tongue and groove. No plywood. Oak plank flooring.

My uncle builds custom homes outside of my price range. Mostly 400k to 1 million. I had him come check out this house and he told me there's twice as much lumber in this attic than a national builder would put in.
Depending on the remodeling they may cost slightly more to maintain but are generally cheaper per sq ft and you are getting a much better built home.

Those little frickers are always on my back porch. Their poop is big too. Hate them. Skink
