cat has killed one of these and looks like it's gotten a hold of this one, too. I've never seen this before.

This, specifically a male during mating season. I hadn't seen one around the house until this year.

It's a broad headed skink. They normally aren't that color. Their head turns that color during mating season to help attract a mate.

We don't but a few of the neighbors do. We live in Woodland Ridge. There's an abundance of wildlife in this neighborhood. I've seen foxes, coyotes, deer and about every damn species of snake we have in this area.
