This is why I think the Reeds still have a role to play.
Idk about that. I saw somewhere that the chick that played Meera will not be in s8

Well, that would suck, but I don’t trust any of the media this season. I think they’re going over the top with secrecy and disinformation given what happened last season.

Perfect episode for some awkward Greyworm-Missandei rubbing.
How great would it be if Theon stole Greyworm’s girl.

Can you translate that to English?
Bran was waiting outside in the snow. Sam asked him what he was doing. Bran said "I'm waiting for an old friend." Bran waits out in the snow until the next day for Jaime to arrive.
It's easy to think that Bran was talking about Jaime being an "old friend" in a sarcastic way since that's who pushed him out the window. But Bran is not bran anymore. He is the three Eyed Raven. He is devoid of joking and sarcasm. He is emotionally blunted. He Only talks about what's important, nkt about past grievances held by the person he used to be. He's said 100 times that he's no longer Bran.
So, when he said "the old friend" thing, he was speaking as the Three Eyed Raven about truth, not as Bran being sarcastic. But Jaime is not a friend of the TER. So the theory goes, the TER, being an everexisting "person", was alive at the time that the Azor Ashai was. The AA, according to prophecy is the person who was in the past, and is in the future, destined to kill the "Great Other", aka the night king.
So it was the TER who said he was waiting for his "old friend", the AA, not Bran waiting for his "old friend" Jaime.
Adding to this is the fact that telling Jon that he is the rightful heir of the 7 kingdoms is a big deal. It's something Bran and Sam knew they had to do. It was important. But when the time came, something even more important took Bran's attention. All of a sudden talking to Jon was unimportant. He told Sam to go do it.
What could be so important? Seeing his old friend. Saving the realm.

I foresee Dany being super annoying this episode in regards to how she treats Jaime. IMO Brienne and Tyrion will vouch for him. I don’t think Jaime’s trial will take up too much time this episode given the Night King and his army being close to Winterfell.
Jaime came North to honor his promise, and as such he should be under the Queen's protection. Having an army would have been nice, but at least HE'S still there.
With Dany in 100% control, this lack of army would be annoying, but they'd move on. Trial is Stark doing, pure and simple.
And, is anyone else thinking the North sure is being petty about people who are coming to help them?
Dany: I'm here to save Winterfell from the Night King.
North: boo, we hate you. Jon's a traitor
Jaime: I'm here to fight for Winterfell against the Night King.
North: hey, that's a Lannister. Let's put him on trial
Theon: I'm here to fight for... hmm, oh nevermind. Has my ship left the docks yet?

It could also just be bad writing.

God I hate the Greyworm subplot.

The ONLY redeeming quality of Greyworm/Missandei was seeing those amazing tits

Eman, I am starting a company and you are VP. When can you start?

It’s beyond petty. They have ZERO chance of defeating the Night King without Dany and her forces. And even with them there are going to be massive losses. The tension exists to either keep conflict amongst our “good guys” or the writers are just showing how childish people can be at even the most dire times.
An army of 100k+(a guess) zombies led by WWs is headed your way. The zombies can only be killed by fire, dragon glass and Valerian steel. The WWs can only be killed by dragon glass and Valerian steel. And oh yeah, they have a zombie dragon now as well that shoots blue fire. But by all means, we should definitely let Jon know how angry we are that he bent the knee and have a trial/inquisition for Jaime since there’s not much else going on at the moment.

Saw this earlier on r/FreeFolk after I read your theory. Would be badass if it isn't Jon.

Yep I heard Jamie putting his golden finger in the night king’s bum causes him to shite out the piece of dragon glass killing him.

That’s been my theory, as well. Jaime is AA and the ultimate kingslayer.

What was the bad writing you’re referring to in this case?

I’ve actually read a pretty good theory on Jamie forging lightbringer in his redemption arc. If anyone other than Jon is the final hero, I want it to be him. He goes from the ultimate piece of shite to the man who sacrifices it all family, riches, and love to be a true hero. He also gets his pages filled out in the book of the kingsgard that were empty of accomplishment.
He starts by confessing to Brienne in the bath at Harrenhal. Tempting in water and his persona shatters as he returns as the kinglsayer. He then releases Tyrion who shoots and kills his father. Tempting to shed his Kingslayer persona again with the heart of the lion. His final act of shedding his kingslayer persona is putting his blade through the heart of his love fulfilling the Valonquar prophecy and azor ahai all at once.

In the books, dragonglass only kills the white walkers, not the wights.

Well good thing is we'll find out probably early in ep2 if this is right.

So when he told Littlefinger that "chaos is a ladder," that wasnt in connection with a past grievances? I love that you're just making stuff up like it was written in an appendix from GRRM.

Its been a total of about a minute and a half of sub plot. And one of those was arguably the greatest minute of the entire series.
