Why would someone as hated as Alleva be put in a donor relations role?

It has to just be an empty title right?

To be put to pasture until his contract is up.

And some may wonder why Alleva is going into a fund-raising position under president F. King Alexander. "Joe spent a lot of money, but he never raised a lot of money," Lipsey said.

Definitely an empty title. My wife works for another conference and said this is standard practice when they can’t/won’t fire an AD outright.

He will be fetching coffee for FKing and the BOS until his contract is up. At least that’s what should happen.

Alleva drunk on a golf course is easier to deal with than him making decisions for the university.

Since nobody is donating to the university until he is gone, his job is to call all of those people and allow them to vent their frustrations. It's beautiful.

I think it all has to do with his contract and if he’s fired, how much money is due Alleva

Skip held the same or very similar title for a year after he stepped down. At least Skip was liked and able to raise money.

Well we were planning to send him to live in the attic of Notre Dame. But there was a little bit of a mishap with that earlier this week when we were getting his suite ready.

This.

Since they are going to have to pay him anyway this is just a move to try and get some kind of value out of him.

Its also punishment. All the fans he pissed off now get to call him and bitch him out and he gets to read all the hate he drummed up everyday when he checks his email and then gets to see how much everyone loves a competent AD when Woodward starts making changes. Its either that or he can pick up trash around campus and change the garbage bags out.

They are rubbing his nose in his own shite and yelling, "Bad boy! No! Bad boy!.
