Using two garden hoses to put the fire out???

When have the French ever been fighters?

The flower of French manhood got extinguished between 1914 and 1918. We’re seeing the results several generations down the line.

Be glad they didn’t just surrender.

The situation was delicate and dropping tons of water would not have worked, but I do question why they hadn’t thought of a scenario like this and planned accordingly

And 2 hours to really put a plan of action into place from what I just heard. Id love to know what all would have happened and be happening now, same exact set scenario, but instead it be an eaually important mosque.

no one NO ONE has asked this question yet but why werent sprinklers installed and working for such a building?
if they had sprinklers then this building would never have burned
as to why they didnt put any effort into stopping the fire, well that would have been very hurtful to the mussies who started the fire.

I am not buying the whole "The French are cowards" thing. That is just stupid. But seriously, how does something like this happen. It is probably their single most important structure, apart maybe from the Eiffel Tower. It is under renovation. How are they not planning for this and being super vigilant. This isn't cowardice, but it does appear to be gross incompetence.

Most of the Alphas got killed from 1914 and 1918. The rest (or their sons) got killed from 1940 to 1945.
All that's left is the children of the betas and the collaborators.

What’s wrong is they overthrew their king and left Christianity due to “enlightenment”. Most of the decent French emigrated at that point (my family included). The French people are lost.

You are talking about a country that surrendered to Germany at the beginning of WW2 because they didn’t want Paris to be destroyed. As to why they weren’t putting much effort into stopping the blaze, it sounds like they were more concerned about saving artifacts before attempting to fight the fire. If I was a betting man, I’d say they didn’t want the full force of the Paris FD raining down millions of gallons of water on the structure before they had a chance to save the art and other treasures. I know that’s backwards thinking but that’s the way the French are. They’d have much rather had the building burn to the ground and save irreplaceable pieces art than to save the building at the expense of the art.

It was the Keystone Cops all over again. They were not prepared, had no plan, and were uncertain how to stop the fire. They do not deserve to watch over artistic treasure. Pity the Louvre. We have not seen the cause in detail, but I'd bet all sorts of rules were being broken, with the authorities prancing around in self importance, acting as if they had all contingencies covered.

The French have never been the same since the Nazis captured Le Beau and sent him to Stalag 13.
