Personally, I think the way this whole Will Wade situation has been handled is an embarrassment.

In summary, this is what I am basing my opinion on.

- Yahoo publishes article the day after we beat Florida, at Florida to go undefeated on the road. After that article there was the Dan Wolken article on USAtoday, a little while later Dick Vitale tweets. Joe Alleva publicly announces Will Wade is suspended.

- Alleva then publically request to meet with Will Wade who declined to meet with him.

- Smart was suspended then reinstated the day of the first game in the NCAA tournament because there was no evidence he received anything as payment to commit to LSU.

My first question is. Why would Alleva publically suspend CWW then publically announce that he wants to meet with Wade. Why would he not meet with CWW first?

Not to mention, what changed between what Alleva knew in October and what he knew at the end of February?

Dead period for recruiting ends right now.. Noon on April 11, 2019. Signing Day starts April 17 and ends May 5. No one knows what the hell is going on. It seems like the players don't know what the hell is going on.

Is it fair to blame Alleva (and/or King) for this whole thing? Because I go back to when CWW was suspended. Why suspend him then request to meet with him instead of announcing he is suspended then request to meet with him?

Handled badly by all. Bosses asked for a meeting with his attorneys present, he declines, hence we remain at this stalemate.

It is about like a self inflicted gunshot wound.

Yet Zion was able to play through his whole season without question.

Bruce Pearl played through all of Auburn’s schedule without question.

Sean Miller was only suspended for 5 days and 1 game by Arizona last year.

Yet LSU suspended players and its coach immediately and led a three ring circus around it all that is still continuing.

Nice work, Joe

Not as bad as people are freaking out about.

LSU won the SEC, made it to the Sweet 16, and the coach hasn't been fired. What's the big fricking deal?

WW situation is pretty bad but I think Aramark concessions has been the worst decision of Alleva’s tenure at LSU

The part about the head coach being recorded talking to a convicted felon on an FBI wiretap that created this whole mess?

Or the administration trying to protect the basketball program and university?

This is the second worst handling of a situation. And this is a list that includes multiple awful hirings, the Les Miles situation held across 2 separate seasons, the ruination of the game day experience for the average fan, the Florida football mishandling and of course the Duke situation. So between all of these small mishaps, this is second.

Aleva should have requested a meeting one on one with Wade to understand exactly what the issues were and what he and LSU were faced with before he called in the NCAA and school attorneys
. He probably would have gotten that meeting and could have then made a decision how to proceed. He is a coward leader for LSU Sports and the BOD needs to recognize that and get rid of this guy. He thru Wade under the bus from the get go without understanding the true facts. He felt he needed someone to hold his hand while he addressed the issue namely the NCAA.
