re: Possible Wade meeting Monday; Lipsey and Williams may be working together to oust Alleva

Or it's simply just a byproduct of supreme negotiating leverage
In some instances, yes, but in the “real” world, a lot of executives get their jobs as favors being repaid or by having the right connection. There are literally thousands upon thousands of unqualified, limited talent, and poor leaders put in great positions in companies all the time. They drive companies into the ground and get a golden parachute while the employees get a pink slip and pat on the back.
Happens all the time.

They already have a shiny new stadium in football. LSU is still out recruiting them.
They finished higher than us last cycle. We will probably finish with a better one this cycle. But to say we are straight out recruiting them is false.

All of this came to the notice of LSU’s fans because of a Dellenger article that appeared at SI on the day after LSU defeated Vanderbilt in the regular-season finale, the first game of Wade’s suspension. At that game Alleva was positively raked over the coals by the 14,000 LSU fans in attendance, and the Dellenger piece read as an attempt by Alleva to message that it was Williams, rather than Alleva, responsible for the decision to suspend the coach.
Which meant he more or less hung Williams out to dry, and likely put Williams in the line of fire from the fans. One would imagine the board chairman didn’t appreciate that much, and might well have decided he’d get on board with the idea of unloading Alleva.
And there is more to this, which is that Williams has lots of political connections to the New Orleans political elite, including the Morial clan – which is something LSU assistant athletic director Verge Ausberry shares, having married a Morial. So by moving Alleva and installing Ausberry as an interim AD Williams may well have pulled off a significant political coup which would have the benefit of pleasing a large number of the fans and potentially helping to kick-start that moribund capital campaign.
Williams doesn't give two shits about LSU basketball, he's just pissed someone's actually holding him accountable for screwing this shite up by his BOS tanking the initial proposed Wade/Alleva/Alexander meeting over the yahoo report and instead insisting the inclusion of the BOS and NCAA in that meeting and gonna fire Alleva to make a point (of which he has the right as BOS Chair) and replace him with an equally shitty if not shittier AD, nothing to do with elevating LSU sports. What an SJW ambulance chasing shithead.

Lipsey should get in JBE's ear but I'm not sure their politics are compatible.
Lipsey definitely has the governer’s ear.
“Richard Lipsey, a Baton Rouge businessman, is helping to put together a duck hunting event for the governor in January. The weekend is expected to raise about $250,000 from Republicans and Democrats.
Lipsey and his family have given about $297,026 to mostly GOP candidates. He was one of the first Republicans to support Edwards in the 2015 campaign.”

Depends on which service you look at. LSU was above them on Rivals for 2019. On 24/7 they finished .40 points higher and had 2 more recruits to add in.
LSU currently has a top 3 class for 2020 and Aggy is sitting at 20. It's way too early but they are not out recruiting LSU.

But perhaps Woodward would consider coming home if he was offered the president job.
While I applaud your voracity, this statement is borderline asinine. LSU President & AD are not in the same ballpark for qualifications.

So any updates from McKay or is he making up stories again?
Posted on 4/8/19 at 6:30 pm to GeorgeTheGreek
He's updated the original story on the Hayride to say that the meeting is Thursday this week.
Went from possibly Monday, to Tuesday to Thursday. Keep in mind the dead period ends on Thursday, that is a huge day for recruiting.

They need to bring CWW back officially on Easter Sunday along with billboards everywhere with his picture saying, "HE is risen!"

Moret President. Woodward AD.

Would be incredible. Pipe dream sadly.
I am one of those "I'll believe it when I see it" types when it comes to Alleva finally being out of here. I will say though that over the past three days, there seems to have been a lot of smoke. It's encouraging nonetheless.
If this gets pulled off, re-name it "Richard Lipsey Field at Tiger Stadium"

If they are working together, it’s only because Earring wants to replace Alleva and Wade with someone darker,
He only wants Alleva out and VA in there as Interim AD with hopes of trying to force him in as permanent AD.
BTW, VA is just another one of those X-LSU football players that are incompetent in their job performance (Nice OOC football schedule each season there Verge) and need to be purged from the department.
Hire competent individuals and not X-LSU football players that were hired by the good ole boy network soley because they were X-LSU football players and needed a job.

Keep your fingers crossed. It’s not something that can happen overnight. But I think it can happen sooner than one might assume.

I hope you realize there isn’t a OOC game scheduled that isn’t approved and signed off on by the head coach before negotiations with the opposing school even begins.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Williams tries to force Ausberry into the AD spot permanently. It would be a disaster if it happens. LSU seemingly loves to promote anyone with the “interim” moniker before their name.
