I would love this being that he is from BR. But on the business side of this he is at A&M which has so much money for athletics they are running out of things to spend it on between the new projects or renovations they are doing or have already done. Blue Bell alone could fund most of their projects

Meh, when it comes to Athletic Departments, the money A&M can generate and the money LSU can generate is comparable. Their numbers the last few years have been propped up by donations for their stadium expansion.

If LSU wants Woodward, we have the money and intangibles to make it happen.

LSU has money for whatever it wants in that athletic department. The problem is they get shite from F. King anytime it wants to spend money because the "optics won't look good" when he's begging for money to the legislature. The next LSU AD needs to have a spine to tell him or his replacement to get fricked.

And none of them names would be picked by Williams. I don't think "color" was his focal point when he made that statement.

No one is saying LSU has the same type of donors. I don't get why you're so mad about that. However, LSU can spend the same amount of money on athletics to keep up.

LSU already has a big problem recruiting the best students who ultimately choose to go to TX, Al, and GA schools. The drivers are lack of comparable scholarships, and "optics", one quick tour of the campus and it is obvious what takes priority.

aTm could buy the LSU athletic department with their chump change if they wanted to. Never believe that LSU could out bid them on a strictly cash basis.

Ahh, the golden parachute. CEOs run companies into the ground but have lucrative severance packages. The employees who lose their job over the CEO incompetence get squat. The American worker is told to be thankful they have a job while the execs get endless perks.
The fleecing or the average joe.

Or it's simply just a byproduct of supreme negotiating leverage. If I'm a great coach doing a great job at a school who is paying me well, why would I leave to go to your school unless you are willing to give me the job security I want? The coach has all of the leverage in this situation. If you want him, you to have to meet his demands. If you don't, he stays at his current employer where he is happy and you're still left trying to find a guy who can do the job as well as him.

It's just simple supply and demand

One of these is not like the others academically speaking. UA has improved, but they are still a peer institution of LSU, whereas UT and UGA are not.

Bama from an academic standpoint has been increasing it's priority on getting out of state students because it OOS tuition is much greater than instate.

LSU's strategy has been to get the TX and UF students who are academically strong but can't get into UT/A&M, and UF. It's worked, but it's not the high volume OOS students UA has gone after.
