getting rid of ball in 2.5 seconds.
Effective technique when the OL can't consistently pass block. (Should've been used a lot more last season, instead of Max Protect that takes the TE's/RB's totally out of the passing game)

Here's a novel "Occam's Razor" type idea. How about recruiting OL's that played in a passing offense in high school that CAN already pass block, instead of Louisiana public high school Road Grader OL's that haven't ever pass blocked and can't learn it in college. Occam's Razor.

So this sounds like Ensminger will just be a bystander?

Maybe Joe Brady is that good. I don't know but I do know that they like what they see.
Hopefully he's a young, energetic and innovative "Football Will Wade" type that finally moves the Offense into the next level.

I was walking around Tiger Stadium with my family yesterday and saw several defensive players coming from the practice facility. They were soaking wet and looked like they had been 15 rounds with Ali and Tyson...

5. Matt Mauck 2003: 2825 yds

I'd say 2nd place is well within reach. Surpassing Davey would be very impressive indeed.

Yeah, except Rohan Davey is saying the same things that OP and Hester are saying.

And Burrow has been running this offense since he was 13 years old.

Rohan was on Matt Moscona last week or so (link below). Ro is very high on Joe Burrow (and adamant about it!)

Rohan's comments:
quote:

"I think Joe's going to make a huge step. I know what it feels like to be comfortable in the second year of an offense. I know what kind of frickin crap he went through this year just trying to get everything right. And he did a fantastic job.

I'm just picturing now his second year. He's had a whole year here. He's had a whole year with his receivers. And he's a smart guy. And he knows what he's doing.

Honestly. um. um. Who the hell's the offensive coordinator? Ensminger! If he lets that boy loose...Man. And if it goes the way I think it will go... I think Big Joe will break my passing yardage... I'm telling you!"

Ok? Joe never seemed to struggle with plays or reads, the plays were garbage and he never had an outlet.

Don’t give me that bullshite excuse. I saw 19 year old Trevor Lawrence and 18 year old Jake Fromm shred the Bama team that we haven’t scored on in Baton Rouge since 2014.

Heard similar story from a guy who attend the scrimmage. Burrow got hit twice and there were two may-lays between the offense and defense. Team unity is growing tighter despite this.

O-line is a head of schedule. My guy said defense stopped offensive early, but once offensive got going the were hard to stop. Chase is a dog! Whatever accolades are being said about Stingley are not enough.

My guy had a different take on Brennan. Said he is still too skinny and still misses lots of open receivers.

Well then he’s an idiot. Myles has never had a problem missing open receivers, and he’s over 200 pounds now.

And Lawrence was the highest rated QB in the history of the 247 rating system. One of the highest rated recruits at any position. Burrow is not Lawrence. Burrow was a low 4 star (.9003) coming out of HS. Fromm was 16/32 for 232 and 1 TD vs 2 INTs. Yards were OK, but 50% completion and 2 INTs vs 1 TD is shred? Fromm was also a 5 star on some services.

I've been on the record about how bad the scheme and playcalling was last year. If you want to discard other variables then I can't help you.

Your(friend’s) take on Myles sounds football ignorant.

I’m all in.

If you spent anytime whTsoever last season during pregame warmup watching Myles Brennan, you’d know that kid has potential to be special.
Huge arm. Makes every throw. Ball just looks different in the air.

I can’t wait for August and 2019 LSU football.

That’s because for the first time in 15 years we have more than one competent qb and obviously no more Les miles.

Fromm and Lawrence were both early enrollees. They had full off-season workouts and full Spring Practices.

Joe Burrow was still on the Ohio State roster one year ago today.

[BTW, How'd Fromm do against LSU and Burrow?]

But LatinTiger’s friend said he’s STILL missing open receivers, like he’s always done.

ETA: Myles signed with LSU knowing he needed time to gain weight and develop, and also that he would be competing for a job the entire time he’s here.
