You know who is even more likely to be diagnosed? Those with insurance coverage who regularly visit a psychiatrist or psychologist

Smoking anything is inherently bad for you. I always get a kick out of people that argue contrarily.

Maybe people with a psychotic disorder are drawn to pot for whatever reason. If it’s already there then there’s no additional harm in using. The idea that it causes the disorder is a bit wonky.

I'm amazed at how we're going back to the 1930's in our modern society. Reefer madness, burning books, social puritanism. It's fricking insanity
They aren't doing that. Paranoia is a well known side effect of marijuana use. Paranoia is a symptom of many mental illnesses. This study is no surprise. Everything has side effects. It won't cause it in most users but it can in some. No different than say, smoking raises one's risking cancer.

The pro MJ crowd won't like this because they suggest MJ is as pure as unicorn farts.

We know cigarettes and alcohol cause a myriad of health and societal problems (drunk driving) yet those are still legal under the guise of freedom and personal responsibility.

Even with this study, I’ve yet to see anything that convinced me marijuana should be treated differently than cigarettes and alcohol.

Most pro MJ supporters never suggest that. That's a ridiculous meme the opposition tries to use to make the legalization crowd look like a bunch of burned out hippies.

Everyone knows too much of any intoxicant is bad. Nice try, though.

Yep, at a minimum you have to say it is no more harmful than either of these

So how many of these people had mental disorders before they started smoking weed?

This is the likely correlation.

I don't know anyone who smokes weed everyday and isn't a little fricked in the head.

They medicate with weed.

And I am cool with that, better than popping pills or getting drunk and beating their kids.

So the Prog/Dim leftists are really pushing their luck....., most already suffer from acute TDS, now mix in the weed, their mental health prognosis is not promising.

all of the people who claim that it has numerous health benefits and is essentially risk-free are imbeciles.

Well it does have a ton of health benefits including ones we aren't even aware of yet. And of course it also has risks. Just like every other substance.

I smoke the hell out of pot and even I am not a DAILY user. Jeebus. And, I'll still wait to see if this "finding" is replicated and what controls were used. Not all "research" is equal. Again, smoking DAILY is not something I'd recommend and I LOVE to smoke.

Is this anyone you know?
