That’s nice. We both know it doesn’t take a gun to be harmed, though. In the U.S., our constitution was created to keep us away from an overbearing central government like the one we separated from. Guns are the only thing that presents us an option from being total sheep.

Worked wonders here

By what metric?

Homicide rate in the US has been lower than the one in AUS every year after the banning’s passage.

Also, what decline in AUS’s rate is evident was present in a decade long trend prior to the banning.

I guess that takes NZ off the escape from America list.

Not when 50 million of us decide to escape there at the same time.

So now mass murderers dictate policy in NZ.

The guy who did this is now forever relevant.

Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern says New Zealand is immediately banning assault rifles, high-capacity magazines and "military style semi-automatic rifles" like the weapons used in last Friday's attacks on two Christchurch mosques. Ardern announced the ban Thursday and said it would be followed by legislation to be introduced next month.
Does the PM have the authority to take this sort of unilateral, action under NZ law? Or is mere rhetoric?

A NZ police official said yesterday that he would 'remind people that owning firearms in NZ is a privilege, not a right'......

That's a fundamental difference between owning firearms here vs there. There you truly possess them at the whim of the government- the only requirement to lose your right is the gov't proclaiming 'because we said so'. No individual law-breaking needed.

No thanks.

Haha wow that’s border line retarded.

I get your rights to own firearms but it’s moronic to think that everyone in Australia should carry a gun to protect themselves from the 0.00001% of people that actually have one.
