what authority does the compliance office have to insert themselves into the meeting? The answer should be none.
That’s where it gets tricky if we’ve created a “compliance-first” culture in the AD where compliance has been given ultimate, independent authority.
Need to clean house. Unfortunately can’t do it right in the middle of a scandal where the NCAA is on site.
But yes, you are right... compliance answers to Alleva and Pres. New AD needs to clean it out and put his own people in place and make sure everyone is on the same page in terms of their mission.

How in the frick can compliance have this much power!
What’s funny is you posted the answer to your own question.

King and Alleva can tell them how the cookie crumbles......correct?
Absolutely! And that’s exaclty what’s happened..... BY DESIGN.
With fans calling for their firing, Alleva and Alexander deflect the blame to some more abstract “compliance office”, so there’s no single throat to choke.
They threw compliance under the bus to save their asses.

But, if it happens, it's even more of an indictment on this administration, because it effectively proves that all of their antics over the past 12 days have been utterly pointless and a complete waste of time. And yet they've done irreparable harm to LSU's brand and basketball program at this point.

Time for all parties involved to stop acting like children. Come to a compromise and get this figured out. Everyone’s gonna have to put some pride aside, which may make this impossible in the end.

we understand that the TAF plane coming back from Nashville Friday night was a near riot with furious boosters seething over the Wade thing and numerous other public-relations and administrative lowlights in recent history

agreed. It's like they're all trying to one-up each other for all to see in the public eye. It doesn't help anyone to do that and just makes everyone look ridiculous and unprofessional. It's like they're trying to fight LOIC with the NCAA by showing how dysfunctional they all are as a collective governing body. It's almost as if they don't know they're supposed to be on the same team and have the same collective goal.

Fire King and Alleva. Blow up the compliance office. Reinstate Wade. And all would be right with the world.

that he’s not actually going to have to testify in this case, that the seemingly-damning remarks on the transcript released by Yahoo! Sports are selective and paint the exchange between him and Christian Dawkins (who was not a middleman for Smart, and with whom Wade maintains he’s never actually done any business other than occasionally talking shop) in a light which doesn’t reflect reality, and that this will all eventually blow over.

Very good article and this needs to happen now.

The Hayride has been the lone shining beakon of truth in all of media with respect to this situation, at least that I have seen.

This article lays bare the utter bullshite laid forth by our local "journalists" peddling the line that simply an employee should be willing to meet with their employer. Wade can not and should not enter into a what will devolve into a collective legal/contractual gang bang. His attorney was wise to steer him clear. LSU needs to reign in the keystone cops and go about this wisely. Enough if wade were guilty as sin, they are handling this wrong.

so it sounds like there’s a real chamce this happens

I think that if wade is reinstated prior to the Yale game, oooohhhhhh man I feel sorry for Yale. Our boys would be a six-man wrecking crew. #weplaywithsix #theyhave5

Sounds like it to me too, Andy, but I'm trying to not get my hopes too high in case those idiots f**k it up.
