I’ve learned to never accept a glazed donut from the viewing shelf. Had my last stale donut about a year ago from the Shipley’s here in Metairie. Never again

I ask them to go get a fresh one, wait if not are currently fresh in the back, or head on down the road if they are done for the day

A donut that isn’t fresh sucks balls. Donuts go from fantastic to fricking terrible about 5 minutes after being made

Bakers Dozen is awesome. And they will never serve you a donut that isn’t hot and fresh

I don’t hardly ever eat doughnuts unless they are supplied at a work meeting but bakers dozen are the best I’ve had in New Orleans metro area.

I got a breakfast sandwich when they first opened in the inside was stone cold. Never set foot in the place again.

frick that. Sure they are better fresh but if you haven’t had a donut that’s been sitting in your moms counter for 5 hours then you ain’t livin.

I agree about the coffee sucking. Tried it twice. The first time I thought it tasted sour. I gave them another try and the same thing. Maybe it was just that particular location but it was not good.

I agree with you about the donuts, but their maple bacon chipotle sandwich is fantastic.

A lot of their stuff is terrible. It’s not a big surprise considering they are shipped into the store and usually served by people who have yet to master breathing. The sandwiches are most cardboard based.

However, I like their coffee but it’s very store dependent. The blueberry cake donuts are decent too.

Best donut place ever is in Pontchatoula right off the interstate. Small white building and their drink cooler is a 60qt icechest.

Even most Krispy creme donuts are made off site and shipped elsewhere

Pretty sure they are made elsewhere and sold there.

They are. Other than the glazed ones, KK is the same at most of their locations. There are some that make more than the glazed in house, but most of them do not.

I used to like the cake doughnuts with chocolate icing at Dunkin, but it's been ages since I've had one. Couldn't even tell you the last time I had a doughnut from Dunkin. Probably 30 years, at least.

There are so many decent donuts places in Nola you should never be subjected to DD.

Place I normally go had 5 cars in line ahead of me in the drive thru which normally means a 25-30 min wait (they are insanely slow). I was being lazy on the way to work and DD had a drive thru with only one car in line (should have been a sign).

I know my lesson now.

What is being sold as Dunkin Donuts now is not the Dunkin I remember from my youth. The donuts were much better, especially the chocolate glazed. The donuts were made in-house instead of being ordered & trucked in every day.

I feel like DD went downhill shortly after I left New England, which was right around the time Bain Capital purchased DD's parent company.
