Interesting nugget of info I found out today. Apparently after being grilled by thr admin for 4 hours, Javonte’s mother threatened the school with a lawsuit if they dont reinstate him. Her reasoning is that he’s been cleared by the NCAA and they’re messing with his reputation and future earnings by using him as a bargaining chip and holding him out.
Except the NCAA has not cleared Smart and LSU isn’t using him as a bargaining chip.
Other than that solid take.
Look I want Wade and Smart back but spreading total BS doesn’t help any of us.

Trouble is, that goes against compliance.
You can’t even buy her dinner. Really really stupid, but true.

The Wade/Javonte thing was discussed on Sports Today during lunch time on Monday. Ott said he had heard the NCAA did a short preliminary look into Wade and Javonte and cleared both, leaving it in LSU’s hands to decide how to handle the situation. Which fits what Javontes mother allegedly said. I believe there was even a thread on it.

I didn't realize the NCAA had suspended him.
He doesn't need to be cleared of anything if he isn't even being investigated by the NCAA, right?
Pretty sure LSU can choose to play him.
There is no reason not to. If he was in trouble, the season is in trouble regardless. You are as close to a championship as you will be. So what are you even trying to do here by suspending him over simply his name being mentioned? It's absurd of LSU.

The "strong" offer included her local legend son playing for the local school. Now her "strong" response is quit playing games with my son's future or I'll byatch slap all of you.

Good. And she is absolutely right.
I hate being a conspiracy theorist, but a part of me thinks that someone was behind yahoo publishing the article they did.. For two reasons.
1. The timing in which it came out. The day after we beat Florida which was the end of our road game schedule, which we won every conference game... With only one game left. Against Vandy.
This was an article back in October.
LINK
If the FBI had this information in October, then they obviously had the recording about J Smart.
This is my opinion, but this is a FBI investigation and there has never been anything said by the NCAA right? The NCAA doesn't want to touch this with a ten foot pole. They probably was hoping that after the trial with Dawkins, it would all just go away because they don't want to start getting into what teams are paying who.. Because if they had to take action against every program that was found doing something wrong, there would be a lot of money to lose.
But Joe Alleva decided to take action on his own program. Despite the fact Bill Self from Kansas was subpoenaed along with Will Wade and he is still coaching and last year around this time there was an article that said there was up to 50 programs that were tied to a FBI case. But because he have a stupid shite of an AD. He jeopardized Smart & Wade's future.

Hayride article dispelling popular misconceptions about Wade, Smart

The class got started when Javonte Smart, the star point guard from nearby Scotlandville High school in Baton Rouge just north of LSU, committed to LSU. Smart has been around the LSU program since he was little, his best friend is Kelvin Joseph, who’s the star defensive back in LSU’s just-signed football recruiting class and Smart merely needed a good reason to choose to be a Tiger.
When Jones was busy driving the program into the ground Smart didn’t have one, but Wade changed that immediately after taking over – he sold Smart on being the spearhead of his hometown program returning to national prominence with all his friends and family cheering him on. That’s a pretty easy sale for a Louisiana kid and it doesn’t require cash payments in most cases.
Then Wade landed Naz Reid out of Roselle Catholic High School in New Jersey, whose commitment to LSU was a bit of an eye-opener. Except Reid and Smart were friends and the idea of playing together appealed to both of them. And it helped that Reid’s girlfriend Raven Farley is a freshman on LSU’s women’s team this year. Yes, it looks unusual that LSU would get a Top 20 recruit out of New Jersey, but given the connections it isn’t really that surprising.
From there, Wade landed a pair of forwards out of Florida in Derrius Days from IMG Academy, a school which LSU has successfully recruited in other sports and which Wade has built his own connections, and Emmitt Williams from Oak Ridge High School in Orlando. Days and Williams are both friends with Smart and Reid from the shoe-league circuit. It isn’t so hard to think once Smart and Reid were on board their AAU pals would pay attention and develop some interest in playing together to build up a winner with them.
Especially when LSU stayed on Williams after he was accused of sexual misconduct by a former girlfriend, which got him arrested but never charged because the evidence apparently showed his behavior with the girl was consensual. Sometimes you can get a kid to commit to your program by believing in him when others won’t.
Well written

I like that article, but let's be honest
IMG Academy would be a good place for the NCAA to start looking into shite.I'm sure all colleges would get trashed
