Is anyone starting to get a little nervous about Wade re: CBB scandal?

I’ve kept myself from really thinking this was a big deal until the last couple of days. We all know cheating runs rampant in the sport. I’ve accepted that as a part of the game years ago.

I do think the NCAA has been on a witch-hunt lately. It’s like steroids in baseball. They pretended they didn’t know, and once the FBI became involved, they want to act appalled.

Vacating wins is beyond stupid, but that’s what seems to be happening these days.

So yeah...I’m starting to wonder what IS going on.

Not really, I'm not going to be nervous until we see a lot more of the FBI's evidence... First off he's not being prosecuted so no worries there, but secondly the one phone call that's been made public is definitely NOT an NCAA violation seeing as the player did not wind up at LSU

Look, we cheat. Everyone does it.

Hopefully wade was smart enough to not implicate himself on tape. From what I’ve heard, he hasn’t. We won’t know if the FBI has more until the trial. If they don’t, we’re fine.

No, I don't believe defense counsel is going to be permitted to put on the show he wants to. The federal court wouldn't allow it in the last trial, and I don't foresee the judge in the upcoming trial giving much more leeway. They are basically trying to expose a "culture" in college basketball, which is completely irrelevant to whether the defendants are guilty of the crimes with which they are charged. The same evidence was ruled inadmissible on the basis of relevance at the first trial. We have the same defendants and the same set of facts for this trial. I don't see how Wade's limited contact with one of the defendants will be any more relevant this time around given Wade's contact with Dawkins is not a part of the crime is he charged with committing.

I honestly don't think anything substantial is going to come with this trial as in pertains to Wade. Whether the NCAA opens up an investigation into the 23 programs involved in the FBI is another story. However, Kansas, Louisville, Arizona and NC State have more to worry about, by far, than anyone, Kansas in particular.

What's happened the last few days?

He got the subpoena over a week ago. At this point, the FBI thinks Wade has information they want, but he hasn't been named a person of interest or suspect, yet.

Let it play out, but it seems like if the FBI had something on Wade and not just an interest in what he knows, then things would be progressing a lot faster than this.

ETA: FBI didn't subpoena Wade, defense counsel did.

#1 LSU is a Nike School not Addidas
#2 player referenced did not commit or sign with LSU
I would say LSU has nothing to worry about.

Every top player was playing this game with the shoe schools and have been doing so for a very long time. The shoe companies are as much to blame for this scandal than anyone else.

Every major school that has signed a one and done player is probably guilty of being involved in this.

The thing that makes me nervous is the NCAA making an example of someone at the expense of not touching the blue bloods who are as guilty as anyone.

One of the major players is sitting right next to Calipari at a recruiting tournament but Calipari is innoncent.

Zion is front and center in this scandal but instead of Kansas he ends up at Duke.

Wade knows how the game is played and so does every other coach in America.

Only things that have happened are:
1. NCAA tried to file an interpleading so they could file a Motion to get the FBI's files....their request was denied.
2. Three people were sentenced this week from their convictions last October of wire fraud.

He was subpoenaed by Dawkins attorney . Dawkins is already in hot water. I doubt he'd call wade in to testify to further incriminate his client. This is nothing. It's game day baw.. let's talk about this another day.

It's tough to find a coach who tirelessly turns over every stone and investigates all angles to get the best guys he can. In doing that, I'm sure you sometimes run in to the shady side of the recruiting game. He's being asked about his knowledge and that is 100% fair.

If we would have landed any of the dudes who we suspect were looking for more than a full scholarship and the perks that go along with being a student athlete, I would be a bit more concerned. Honestly, we don't want those guys and I think Wade knows that too.

What did Wade mean when he told the player's representative on the recorded phone call, "I can get you what you want."?

Where is this information coming from? That is not at all what's happening here.

Nah. No coaches will push against this, they all do it. And, don't read anything on the SECR and take it as fact.
