There is something like 193 million Muslims in India and growing. Bengali Muslims are some mean folk. I had a friend who was a missionary over there and he frequently received death threats from them.

Until one of the Muslims who believes Islam's teachings on martyrdom gains the means to deploy one of the weapons.
There are Muslims who are thrilled to blow themselves up in the name of Islam - I don't know how much more you need to accept that they take those teachings seriously. I am convinced.

The people who manage to wrestle control of a country's military apparatus are extremely unlikely to have the beliefs of a beleaguered goat-fricking peasant. I wouldn't worry overly much.
I'm not sympathizing with Islam one iota, I'm just saying that radicals are not the ones in control unless there is extreme chaos and dysfunction within a country. Even then, a prescient nuclear officer is likely to make sure that no one can enact their eschatological, batshit crazy urges on hundreds of millions of people.

This isn't ISIS gaining access to a nuclear arsenal. The brass and secret police of Pakistan have had the capability to launch a missile for a long time, with several minor engagements with India (and the US), and they've never had a trigger finger.

That pretty much describes the population of Pakistan. And there certainly are people of influence who hold those beliefs. And if one really believes those teachings, why not start a nuclear war?

Shockingly, this board is filled with ignorant comments by people that don’t know shite about geopolitics. If you want to keep China from becoming the undisputed world leader you need to prop up India. The US needs to further improve relations with India and convince them to open up their market to us so that we may redirect trade from China.

Pakistan has only grown weaker visa vi India over the last thirty years. And it’s gotten to the point where they would handily lose any conventional war.
Their first strike doctrine is a response to that.
