Sen. Elizabeth Warren (Mass.), one of the Democrats seeking to challenge President Trump for the White House next year, reportedly plans to unveil a plan that would provide universal care for children in the United States.
The plan, first reported by The Boston Globe and HuffPost, is set to be unveiled Tuesday.
It would make access to quality child care universal through federal funds offered to care providers based on the income of the child's family.
HuffPost reports that Warren's plan calls for no family having to spend more than 7 percent of its total household income on child care.
Additionally, families that earn less than twice the poverty line would pay nothing for child care.
The poverty line is roughly $50,000 a year for a family of four.
Warren is seen as one of the top contenders for the Democratic bid to challenge Trump in 2020.
The Hill has reached out to the Warren's campaign for comment on the child care plan.
Sources told HuffPost that the initiative calls for about $700 billion in new federal spending on child care over the next 10 years.
In recent weeks, Warren has announced several major programs aimed at curbing income inequality, including a potential wealth-tax proposal aimed at the ultra-rich.

Also, don’t they realize that child care centers will just up their prices to include the new free government money?

You know whats sad? As usual this is a hidden tax on "the rich" and by the rich I mean people in nuclear households with working parents whom actually care about their children. so, to avoid the kids of parents who dont care about their kids, they will have to shell out even more money to keep them at church run pre-schools or similar if not have one parent outright quit working to raise their kids.

SSSSSSHHHHHHH!!!!! You’re not allowed to say that!!!
When women entered the work force en masse, it gave rise to strangers raising our kids. Now, the left wants to subsidize women who aren’t married, have no job, and have multiple kids by baby sitting their kids so these women can “go find employment”.
How about this, don’t have a kid out of wedlock and quit relying on the government to support you

woo hoo"!!! more "free" stuff
we are already spend about $1,000,000,000,000 more then we take in, so whats another $70,000,000,000 added to the number.
Again, we have a spending problem, not a revenue problem. balance the budget this year by raising taxes to match spending (negating the effect of taxing on declining return on actual revenue) and you would need to raise taxes again next year to re-balance the budget as spending is growing faster the GDP is growing.....

Wait, what? 50K/year is poverty level? In what corner of the world would an average wage of $25/hr be considered poverty???

Serious question because I’m not very involved in politics & this doesn’t apply to me but don’t we already have Medicaid?

Lolz.
She will NEVER survive the DNA test incident, nor should she.
There is now physical evidence of her, as an adult woman, attempting to use bogus heritage to further her career - complete with her signature.
Then, as a Presidential candidate she tried to pass off 1/1024 as proof of said heritage and victimhood.
She's a joke. We shouldn't listen to anything she says, and donors should and probably will avoid her.
