Bowling Green is about that far away and it is becoming a suburb of Nashville

Nashville is supposed to be the new Atlanta and your are in the ATL burbs now about when you cross the TN line.

Can you imagine being the parent of the 12- or 13-year-old and getting that call from Tennessee police?

Mom didn’t answer the phone bc she thought it was a debt collector.

Say what? This is like calling Gulfport a suburb of New Orleans.

"I'm guessing if your 12 year old is involved in a multi-state crime spree involving murder you're not exactly Parent of the Year material."

I think in 2020 they will officially make Dayton part of the Cincinnati MSA

Dallas - Forth Worth are clearly 2 cities that have grown together over time.

My families old land in southern MS has become a bedroom community for NOLA

Greenwich CT is a bedroom community for NYC

The homicide detective would send Mom’s a nice text stating we have your little shite head under arrest for murder, it would be in your best interest to answer your phone. That’s IF, Mom's even gives a shite.

Oak Grove is not part of Nashville. Neither is Bowling Green.

Half my friends in Nashville probably don't even know what Oak Grove is. That is like calling Baker a suburb of New Orleans.

Oak Grove is tiny area North of Clarksville, TN.

Lived in Nashville for 20 years and today was the first time I've ever heard of Oak Grove.

Exactly

Its a town of 7,000 in Kentucky that no one has heard of.

Calling that a suburb of Nashville is loltastic.

In Tennessee, many people remember a slightly older group from Kentucky who came to Knoxville, abducted Channon Christian and Cris Newsome and after several days of torture , burn him, continued to torture her until they poured lye down her throat and stuffed her, still alive in a 40 gallon drum and sealed it.

This story was buried nationally for the most part back in 2007-2008 or whenever it happened which was odd considering the heinousness of the crime and how awful it was. I'll let you figure out why it got buried nationally (for the most part). I didn't even hear about it until around 2013 or so.

I remember this story when it happened and read up on it because it got so little coverage. Some of the criminal testimony used to be on YouTube. The shocking details of the crime still haunt me.

It was insanely underreported. The response from media was that minorities are victims more often, and are reported on less, so obviously this isn't underreported.

Of course a fairer question is whether brutal, sadistic murders by white people of black people would become a multi-day/week national story. The answer to that is obvious, of course.

This. I used to live in Hopkinsville, KY. Oak Grove is part of the Clarksville/Hopkinsville/Ft. Campbell MSA.
