I don't have an answer to your question, because I don't have kids. however, I ate at the cracker barrel a while back and happened to order some baby carrots that I though would be great for kids... they were whole, but cooked tender and were nice and sweet. I will get them again when I go back

Scrambled eggs are also a good option. Greek Yogurt gets mixed results for us. Any time we have soups, we just purée them a little more for him.
We generally try to give him what we are eating or at least some variations of it. Like I said, he had tofu last night. We were having a spicy Indian dish, so he couldn't have exactly what we were eating but close.

That's great your pediatrician suggested that and it worked for your son.
My son, has consistently been in the 3rd percentile for weight, so him eating is our number one. Excuse me for asking for food recommendations to start him out with. I'm fricking trying to do a good job.

Don't sweat that shite. My kid is 13-14 pounds at nine months. IUGR, 4lbs at birth, congenital heart disease that prevented weight gain, and so on.
But he's healthy as can be now. He's just a nugget.

I haven’t read past the first few posts but, with NillaWafer she was all about her baby food although we consistently tried to give her table food. One day she basically snapped out of the baby food and started eating table food. It’s like she decided to switch when she was ready.
I guess my point was don’t give up, he’ll do it when he’s ready.

3rr percentile? Has your ped made any suggestions? At that weight I'd stick to literally anything that he eats. If it's Mac and cheese every day, so be it.

Thanks for that. I guess I just need to keep trying. It's just hard when the daycare makes it seem like he's behind.

He didn’t seem to mind. We served it with some lemon and maybe sour cream if I recall. He loved it. Loves sushi now and he’s just turned 11. Very healthy kid.

He was early. So the charts don't really work for him. But our pediatrician has always pushed him eating, but also says he sees why he is skinny. He's an on the move kiddo. We are at 19 lbs now, a few weeks short of a year.
I don't plan to alter his eating schedule, was really just looking for ideas of finger foods to try that people had success with.

frick dem. I forgot who said it but it stuck with us. You can't keep comparing your kid to others. Some will hit little milestones first and yours may first, but they'll equal out in time.

Oat meal, banana pudding, berries along with many of the things stated by others We found things that are semi-solid with sweetness work great. after awhile you can start weening them off the sugar.

I find it kind of odd how the medical system puts such a guilt trip on moms over their kids eating. it starts with the inevitable breast feed/vs formula struggle and lasts well into grade school.
I will bet that no kid has ever starved when a decent selection of good food was around...the body compels you to get what is needed whenever it is around. Frankly, almost every one of us ends up fat regardless of what percentile we started out at.
Don't sweat over it all so much and certainly don't let others make you feel guilty.
