I am just going to throw them all in here. Things are about to go into lock down mode and I don't think I will get any more intel for a while. I only have one great source, but even another insider I know said his sources were getting quiet as well. Apparently the shite ESPN said really spooked a lot of people inside. Pissed them off but also has them reflecting on things and some changes will be made moving forward.

Anyway, sounds like the odds of getting an official AD deal done is very small. But they are negotiating with Boston, and there is a chance that both teams can agree on a framework before the deadline. The issue is contingencies. What happens if the teams agree but then unforeseen things happen - Tatum suffers a massive injury or Sacramento pick jumps up to #2 instead of the expected 12-14? Or the Knicks get the top pick and offer it to the Pels in late May?

Neither team can fully trust the other, neither could they control everything between now and May. But they are still working together and its very possible they can have a framework done by the 7th. And from there, Boston would get to decide what happens with Davis for the rest of the season. If they say they don't want him to play, he won't.

As for Niko, Randle, and Moore - one deal is kind of close. But teams really aren't offering much. Pels need to decide if they would rather take very little or just keep them for now. Coaching staff would take a toothbrush for Randle, so he is the one most likely to be moved, but don't expect much.

Thats all I got. If I had to bet, I'd expect little things now, if anything. But big changes at the top and then on the roster from May to July. No clue about Gentry and staff, but up top changes will happen for sure.

Feel free to discuss, but don't ask me any questions because I literally put everything I know in here and left nothing out. Enjoy the next week. Will jump back in if I hear anything new, but I doubt that happens. Lock down mode seems to have begun.

Cool. Good to hear they are using this to reflect some

What ESPN stuff? About the team being football first?

Who do you think the pelicans bring in for the top? Or who would you recommend they bring in?

I am a fan of Dan Tolzman but I am sure there are 20+ guys who can do a fine job. But I don't care who they hire as much as I care how they handle the process. 20+ guys should be considered. Then more than half a dozen interviewed. 2-3 brought back for a 2nd interview, etc.

Then, hire whoever aligns best with the culture you want moving forward. As long as they do it that way, I would be cool with whoever. But if they take shortcuts, I will blast them and I hope ESPN and others do as well. A lot of the shite people said about them was slightly overblown, but some was very true and they can be mad all they want, but they need to make some changes. And it sounds like they will

If the top is getting re-structured, one can only assume the bottom will also and Demps and Gentry will both be gone.. Dont mean to cheer for a guy losing his job, but woo hoo!!!
Although, I think Gentry wouldnt be that bad of a coach if he just learned rotations, that's his biggest downfall imo

What’s the benefit of agreeing on a structured deal before the deadline with Boston if they can’t trade for AD now?

The benefit for the Pels is they can confidently tell LeBron and the Lakers GFY knowing they have a better deal lined up already. The benefit for the Celtics is they can maybe shut down those Kyrie leaving rumors by letting him know it’s 90% AD is coming.

The one odd thing I see is the new GM will have no say in this deal. Granted I think most of us agree a Boston deal is far and away the best option for the Pels unless the Knicks get the #1 pick.

I’m sure it’s the stuff about it being poorly run and being a second class citizen to the Saints. Gentry was pissed about that and defended Gayle’s honor hard.

Chad started a thread using the word slander over the medical stuff, which apparently did treat outdated information like it was current.

They’ve thrown a lot of shite at the Pels recently so it’s hard to say.

I disagree w leaving AD play up to Boston. We still have no need for him to play not be around our roster. It’s still our risk of him getting hurt even if our deal falls through. Are they not going to play Tatum if we say no play for him?

That would be funny if all the guys agreed to in principle had to sit the rest of the year from both sides

I understand that. More reason to probably push and get deal done and over with. Knicks getting a Zion pick is about the only wild card game changer.

If it were possible for Boston to send a Tatum package to the Pels now it would have already happened. It HAS to wait for the summer because until Kyrie's current contract expires Boston can't legally trade for AD.

He's a pretty good player. I'm alright with getting something for him. But why expect so little for Randle? Does he have a bad attitude other something?

He’s a pretty bad starter. Averaging 20-10 is impressive but he’s a very selfish player on offensive and defensive end. And he has a player option so the team will only have him for half a year and he’s not a guy a team would fight to resign.

He's basically the PF version of Tyreke. There's nothing wrong with him per se, but he's a sledgehammer best used as an off the bench option to break the other team's defense. If you rely on him in a key role, just like Tyreke his low BBIQ tendencies will kill you at the worst times, that applies to both sides of the ball.

Thanks for sharing Crewz! I hope a deal with Boston happens but I would not mind Knicks deal if they get the top pick.

I know we often joke about how the franchise is cursed but what are the damn odds that the one team thay can really satisfy our wants is the one team that can't deal right now. I can only imagine how strong Bostons offer would be if they could get him right now..

LA cannot beat a Celtics package unless they could luck themselves into a top 3 pick in the draft this year.

I think we will find out how much the Knicks desire AD over the next few days. I would expect a strong offer.
