Top Ten Fighter Jets In The World

US has the top fighter in the F-22 Raptor and the No. 3 fighter, the F-35 Lightening II. No. 2 is European Fighter Typhoon and No.4 is by the French. The Ruskies' fighter comes in at No. 5
And of course, the Russian economy is a bust and falls way down the economic ladder to many nations, not to mention dwarfed by the USA. They couldn't finance a war much less build more of what they got.

The F-22 is a beautiful machine. I see the Air Force reservists fly those babies around Pearl Harbor on the reg. I love the sound they make, 'tis the sound of freedom.

Russia’s ace in the hole is that they have nuke and a massive army. Outside of that, we would carve them up like a Thanksgiving turkey. Take their nukes away, we skull frick them.

It describes the F-35 specs with bomb load, and only uses the Euro's ground strike ranges.
F-35 is tactical A2G/escort, always has been.
F-22 is the closest we have to an A2A, but like I said in the other thread. . .who the hell cares.

The F-22 demo team performs the single most impressive feat I’ve ever seen in the air.

As important as the fighters are the support and target acquisition systems that we have. Nobody is close at this moment in time.

I worked the 22 for years, was hanging outside the Elmo DFAC with a bro one summer, and saw everyone looking up...
The demo team pilot, a Major (Don't remember his name) was doing that stop in midair, turn 180, point straight up blast away shite...
A F-15 guy was watching and his mouth was on the floor...

It’s hard to understand the amount of power these things have, specifically the F-22, unless you’ve seen it in person.
The maneuver your talking about is simply otherworldly. The ability to just hoover in mid air and then go full rocket launch is just crazy.

Close range dogfighting is no longer important. Beyond visual range A2A is still a critical capability of AirPower.

I used to be stationed at Langley with a window to the flight line. When the demo guy practiced, we all stopped and watched that maneuver. Every time we could.
