I use it everywhere whether it be on the interstate or rolling through some little speed trap town at 35.

I feel like I less control over the car while im using cruise control. If I need to do something bad arse to avoid a wreck, I dont want to be in Cruise.
That's the dumbest excuse I've ever heard.

So you drive with one foot on the gas and the other on the brake?

Pisses me off when I'm cruise controlling on the interstate, someone passes me and gets in front, then slows down 5 mph to where I need to pass again.

Same here.

I got a fricking speeding ticket in Duson last year because I was on the phone (hands free) and wasn't paying attention to my speed. I always use my cruise going through there, but was distracted and forgot. 62 in a 55.

It will if your car adjusts the cruise control as you approach another vehicle.

FTR, I do use cruise control on longer drives. But 15 miles seems like a ridiculously short drive for it.

Or just get a car with adaptive cruise. It will seriously solve every problem mentioned so far.

I use it all the time. On any road for any distance. Keeps me from getting speeding tickets. Lots of folks don’t know how to set them. Each click on the button is 1mph. You can set it precisely.

If true, you are in the minority. My biggest pet peeve is people riding the left lane, not passing anyone and still won’t get over when you are behind them.

Outside of downtown areas or heavy traffic, always. Sometime when going through a downtown depending on conditions. Set it 5 mph above speed limit and I don't have to worry if I'm going too fast or too slow.

I’ve never understood the hate for cruise control, this isn’t the 70s use some modern tech. I’ll use cruise control going 39 through town for 3 miles just so I don’t accidentally get a lead foot and go 49 if no ones around.

Driving isn't that complicated. You don't need to use cruise control to avoid being inconsiderate to other drivers. It's really pretty simple. You pass in the left lane. If you pass someone and the right lane opens up, you get over into the right lane until you encounter someone you need to pass again. That way people who wish to travel faster than you can simply pass you in the left lane.

Cruise control is pointless because obviously there are too many douchebags on the road to make it worthwhile unless you just want to go 70 or below in the right lane, in which case cruise control is still worthless down here because the interstate is in a constant stop and go because a) we have an abundance of incompetent and inconsiderate drivers and b) our traffic designs are totally inadequate.

I used to drive by Covington/Mandeville exits no problem at any time of day. Then they add an exit/onramp at Brewster and the interstate goes from steady flow to dead stop there every fricking day between 4-7. Suddenly it's like Baton Rouge traffic now.

Yes, unless traffic is heavy and I'm constantly having to adjust it.

I use it on almost every street there is. More people should do this.

Yes, as long as traffic is flowing normally. It's basic common sense.

No, but if i have the cruise on, there could another step needed before an incident. Plus i tend to be a little more relaxed and distracted while on cruise.

Sadly, I am. I spend 95% of the the time in the right lane, cruise set on 75.

People who don’t use their cruise control need to be shot in the face.
