I don’t think it’s a good idea to name anything in this country after Muslims.

I thought this was about Donald Trump.

There were a lot more draft dodgers than you think. Just because there were some people whose families could afford to send them to college (if you were in college you didn't get drafted) doesn't mean they were not dodging the war.

As much as I love my country, I can't say that I blame those people for doing so. It was a war we shouldn't have been in and a lot of Americans were killed there, for pretty much no reason.

Don't worry, Trump will never stand for this! No airports are going to be named after a black man with an Islamic or Islamic sounding name under Trump's watch, blee dat!

58,220 died. My older brother’s name is engraved on that wall. He avoided the draft by enlisting in the National Guard and he thought he was safe from war until they mobilized and deployed his unit.

Can you explain further in detail where it says in the Bill or Rights that citizens of the United States do not have to partake in the draft when called upon?

I used to hate draft dodgers when I was young and mad too, then I grew up and realized that freedom also means freedom from fighting in a war you don’t support. What a terrible way to die...for something and someone that was completely against your free will.

You are right...

It is actually the 13th amendment. Even if you pay them...forcing military service is equivalent to involuntary servitude. The Supreme Court got it wrong in Arver v. United States.

Ho Chi Minh actually wanted the U.S. to intervene on behalf of the North Koreans...but his communication to Truman was caught up in red tape and he never got it. By the time Kennedy came along...he had already been courted by the Russains.

Screw the French...they were the ones that got us in that mess in the first place. Kennedy started our action there, and LBJ was caught in a no win situation.
