I serve gumbo with both spoon and fork, so maybe this dish is un classifiable. Gumbo, the platypus of the food world!

Bisque is soup, too.

Chili? Now, that’s a close call, and up for individual interpretation. I say chili is not soup.

Gumbo is neither stew or soup.

Gumbo is gumbo.

That’s why it’s called gumbo.

EAD&D.

Savoie's andouille sausage & dark meat chicken in a smokey dark roux with Zatarain's long grain white rice and po-boy rounds > any other possible combination in a gumbo

Yeah, Acadiana gumbo is the best gumbo. I don't like any gumbo has any hint of tomato

Perhaps the best thing about gumbo is that "the best" is subject purely to the opinion of the consumer.

That being said...agree on tomatoes in gumbo being nasty AF. LOL

Hope McVay and his whole team eat too much and have the runs all day Sunday.

Yah Restaurant Revolution uses wild rice and it's a great little change. I now use it when I make gumbo at home. Going to have some on Sunday morning before game

I’d never buy gumbo from a restaurant. I know too many grandmas that make it way better and it’s free.

Referring to gumbo as soup is like referring to crawfish as fish. Don't make no fricking sense and speaks to inexperience in life.
