I do when it generalizes all men as guilty of sexual assaul and/or harassment.

Take that commercial and change "man" to "african american."

Do you see anything wrong with it now?

Just imagine if a commercial substituted women or Black folks.

The problem is generalizing groups of people and being collective

I'll give you that.

I don't need to be told to teach my boys to respect women and not frick with other people. Some do. It's not really Gillettes place, but it won't make me throw away my razors. I use the Fusion trimmer/razor and nobody else makes a replacement

It says "because the boys of today will be the men of tomorrow."

Transphobic, maybe the boys of today will be the women of tomorrow...

Bigots...

they have an easy option - boycott gillete products. I personally don't buy gillette products but mainly b.c i think they are a scam.

But to be upset about a commercial? Who the frick cares what Gillette says?

I've said it before, and I'll say it again. Real men, masculine men, built and tamed this country. Without mascualine men, we would be nothing and we will become nothing without them.

You weren't laughing, you were trying to reason with people because you thought their position was wrong and cared to change it.

Uh, guys, my wife's boyfriend just came up with a great point. "But to be upset about a commercial? Who the frick cares what Gillette says?"

You're so pathetic.

I'm not going to argue with an idiot, this isn't the best men can do. You need to do better.

this may have been said before, but the clear indication this is nothing more than idpol masturbation is the fact that there is not a clear message. the only way that message is comprehensible is if you're brain has been liquefied into nothing more than virtue signaling

It shows two sides. It shows the worst of what men can be and the best of what men can be. Then it's up to the viewer to decide which they want to be. All while using Gillete products. Because that's what the good guys use. OP is just trying to bend this into a bigger deal than it is.

It paints men as demons that need to be restrained and reformed.

No it doesn't.

quote:

The commercial throws out stereotypes such as "boys will be boys" and labels innocuous behavior like approaching a woman in public as immoral.

Because it's often done in an immoral way.

quote:

His friend holds him back saying "Not cool, not cool".

Dude was about to cat call her.

quote:

elling your girlfriend to smile for a photo is apparently problematic as well.

If you do it in a condescending way.

As is clarifying statements made by your female colleague during a meeting.

See above.

The like/dislike ratio is hilarious.

Because trolls like you have made it political and linked it on sites where people will flood them with negativity over it.

You're looking at it all the wrong way. And you're choosing to focus on the negative and ignore the positive.

"Mansplaining"

The bigger issue there is the hand-on-shoulder move
