Here in the MS delta. We have nothing. Nobody is killing shite. The few holes I have, have gotten nothing all year but a handful of shite ducks.

frick this weather and frick Ducks Unlimited and their flooded refuges that hold all the ducks up north unless it gets so cold they can’t keep it thawed.

I’m in SWLA and it’s picked up here since Christmas. Definitely not limits every hunt but quality birds and good hunts. Greys have shown up, pintails are strong, and mixing in a mallard here and there. Even had a few redheads and Canvas backs in the marsh this weekend. Lot less teal guess they moved on. Of course there is spoonies.

I hear the dosgris are thick in Delacroix and Point-Au-Chene.

We hardly hunted after teal season for lack of birds... Morganza spillway.

Hunted lake village Ark. 4 years with a buddy . Had a few really good duck hunts but that place is rightly called the goose capital of Ark. Most specs I’ve ever seen anywhere
And it was common to see geese flying all day. But the mud up there seriously sucks!

I can verify this. Saw hundreds if not thousands on Monday while fishing. Also, driving across the causeway today from Metairie to Mandeville, there were hundreds of dos Gris rafting in the lake.

It’s been a bad year for ducks and trout in Delacroix

Yep
Du was cool ....or at least that’s what we all thought 20 yrs ago.

Phil R said I best... I’m not in business of conserving ducks, I’m in business of killing ducks.

These safe zones have screwed many many duck hunters.

Was in the Delta this weekend, too. It’s awful. Went on guided trip this weekend after many weekends at local camp. Another group of us had their guide call and tell them they were welcome to go up, but there would not be any ducks, so he wanted them to know before they spent a lot of time and money. Wish our guide would have done same.

It’s been terrible this year.

Going to go try some reds next weekend and probably even the last weekend of season. Not going back for this.

Made a trip to our lease (Western Terrebonne Parish) this morning. Not going to call it a hunt, but we had camo, decoys, and shotguns... The whole shebang! Just like we were actually going to hunt. Saw 2 ducks a couple hundred yards away.

It’s bad. I may not get in a lease next year for first time in a long time. Just try my luck fishing instead. Might even go back to deer hunting, so I can actually kill something.

Dad has had the lease since 1976. My memories of it start around age 6, which would be 1982 or so.
