LSU's schedule sets up nicely for an 11-1 season in 2019 because of who they get at home. Texas in Austin is going to be a tough one.

If we dont go 10-2 or better in the regular season next year, i dont think we ever will under O.

id take him in a heart beat. To take texas from where they where to beating Georgia in the sugar is impressive also while beating Oklahoma.
can't believe ppl would downvote this. He has no where near lsus talent and is doing well. Just because we didn't land him doesn't mean he can't coach.

Normally I would agree. But I think in this instance it is very much personal. Texas and LSU both offered him the same opportunity, to be their HC. Until Texas fired their coach, all indications were he was set to become LSU's HC. However, he made a decision to choose Texas over LSU, and I doubt money was the main reason. LSU would have paid more for him, but I don't think they wanted to get into a bidding war only to raise the asking price of the next guy when Herman inevitably went to Texas (because that's where he really wanted to be). Certainly it's his prerogative to chose the job he felt is best. But in doing so, he essentially said Texas is a better program than LSU. Next year is LSU's (and Orgeron's) to personally prove that opinion wrong. Make no mistake, for the administration and Orgeron, this game is VERY personal. Same for the LSU fanbase, because he clearly told you your school/team isn't as worthy of his services as Texas.

Herman is an UT alum. Of course he wanted to coach at his alma mater. Did he leverage LSU's interest to get a better deal? Likely. I was never sold on him, but admittedly he's done well at Texas. He just has to stop scheduling Maryland since they keep beating him.

The Jimbo situation was a little more bothersome. Either Jimbo played us, the timing was wrong or Alleva and co. screwed the process up. Probably a combination of all 3.

No reason to get our panties in a wad over coaches who choose to go elsewhere. It's business, not personal.

Ed turned us down for Tenn. Ed rips his shirt off and challenges players to fight. Ed sprints down the sideline to scream at line judge.

Maybe college coaches can be dueches.

Texas in Austin will be a war. Y’all are crazy if you think we are just going to roll them. We should win but it’s going to be a good one.

Similar to Iowa state/Oklahoma state, that Texas/Kansas game had huge ramifications on lsu as well. They beat Kansas and get to a bowl, I do believe they keep strong, and we get Herman

Our offense is poo, there's that.

Do you people really think we have no weaknesses?

Texas isn't going to be a pushover, no matter how douchey you think the coach is or how much you hate their program.

I think we win in Austin. Offense should be improved--Freshman WR's will be experienced and stronger and they will be a handful for anyone. RB position will be improved due to incoming freshman and OL will be slightly better. QB will fully have control of offense and has proven to be someone the team will rally behind.

On defense we will have our best pass rusher back and really only have to worry about the middle LB position (maybe not).

The only downside I see next year is at place kicker and the incoming guy looks good.

I'll definitely be adorning some purple and gold attire for this one. However badly you think he fricked LSU, he fricked UH worse. Herm is petty af. There are classy ways to leave a program (see Scott Frost and Neal Brown) and then there's the Turdman way.
