That philosophy WORKS if you are having success running the ball or defense is sold out to stuff the run.
The offense needs a complete overhaul

Oh pride. You don’t know what you’re watching do you. The rams use play action more than anyone.
fricking
shite
But unlike Jerry, I can also see they use the spread and the spread doesnt kill your PA capabilities

Here's another thing. Why does it have to be an NFL offense? Chad Morris doesn't run an NFL offense. Mike Leach doesn't. Jeff Scott doesn't. Couldn't we use a college offense? The I Formation was an NFL offense. Just because we brand something NFL doesn't mean it is the best option against college defenses on our schedule.

Nah, you’re argument is basically since I cant fix the offense I shouldnt Complain about it.
What the frick did Joe Alleva know about the offense when he canned Les? Did O know more than Cam Cameron when he fires him?
No, but you can usually judge someone’s success by their results, and our results have not been too great.

We will keep scoring zero against Alabama if they keep this philosophy.

And he is fricking wrong.
Even if he was right, you didn't have a Todd Gurley type of RB (relatively speaking) on this team.
If the two Freshman coming in are the gamebreakers we hope they are, then maybe that philosophy works. But the numbers don't lie, this group wasn't consistently explosive. It seemed like nothing came easy for this year's offense (ex. Burrow's perfect pass to Dillion vs. AU; The outstanding catches by Marshall and Jefferson vs. UGA despite decent coverage; Jefferson making some very tough catches in the endzone for TD; the longest run of the season by a RB being 50 yards and both RB's ranking outside of the top 20 in YPC)

Pick and choose what? I compared LSU's 2018 leading freshman WR to Bama's. I picked the numbers from this past year lol. How much more objective can I get?

I'm going claim that Jerry Sullivan knows more about football than your little brain ever will. Who the hell are you to question Sullivan
Oh absolutely he does dude. 4 decades he's been coaching - hell Lincoln Riley is only 35 years old period. Ryan day is only 39 years old, just as Clemson's co-ocs are 38 and 39, Kevin Johns is only 43. Josh Heupel is only 40.
Oh my bad - i was just going down the best offensive rankings this year.

Actually the NFL is starting to shift towards offenses more like these guys.
The Leach ripple can be felt everywhere (e.g. Kingsbury).

Lessons learned from Clemson?
1) Having a 6-6 QB with a cannon and time to throw is a big plus.
2) Having an athletic, big and fast WR catching anything close is a big plus.
3) Having a solid, athletic OL to pass pro is huge.
4) Having a good running game with a breakaway TB is necessary to keep the D honest. A balanced attack (roughly 50/50) run v pass works.
5) Being aggressive on every down is important as not to get into a rut.
6) Spread the wealth

I'm sure he did not want a say, " gee we had an RT in Traore that was constantly getting beat on inside swim moves and leveling our QB and we thought keeping a TE in to block was better than paying for surgery on Burrow and then again on Brennan later on n the season."

Game without Gurley this year they averaged 39.5 pts and 419 yards of offense
Maybe, just maybe, they run a system that doesnt only rely on having elite players Jerry

He said you limit your options when you spread it out. He said that the biggest plays come off of play action and that's why we go max protect - because we feel that play action is the best. Said that's what they do in the NFL.
So 95% of the other college teams are doing it all wrong and LSU is running a new age offense.
Got it!

Or if he thinks you should be playaction heavy when no one respects your run game.
Posted on 1/10/19 at 9:40 am to TrevRollings29
bullshite, you just have to get the ball out of your hands faster to not let your qb take a pounding if the line is struggling to block(in 4 wide sets or spread formations). The limitation comes when you max protect and only have 2 routes, you can run a plethora of things in max protect but they didn't do it and they played into the defense's hands with just 2 routes to cover and can commit more to the run.

"The strength of our offense, in my opinion, right now is our receivers," Ensminger said at a press conference Thursday in which his promotion from tight ends coach to offensive coordinator was announced by head coach Ed Orgeron. "We have depth at wide receiver, which we haven't had in the last couple of years. So I believe this, we have to put three or four wide receivers on the field.

Actually he said that the Rams use this philosophy with Gurley, you know the team they studied in the offseason, but please, continue bashing a retired guy for no reason.
so the PA threat is best used when you have the best runningback in the NFL on your team. Damn, breaking news!
