If Saban retires anytime soon, do you think Dabo Swinney would leave and go coach Bama?

No way. He's literally built what Bama has by himself at Clemson. Why go ride the coat tails of what someone else built when you have toppled that legend?

No cause he is a legend at Clemson. Bama he would have too much to do there to be loved like he is at Clemson.

I used to think so, but not anymore.

He's created his own kingdom at Clemson and is a living legend there. Why would he go follow another legend at Alabama and always be trying to live up to him?

He's got it made for life now.

That is not enough to pull him out of his perfect situation at Clemson.

Easy conference, talent rich area, he has full authority, he is a god to those people, he built everything himself, etc.

I don't see why he would. He's built his own deal at Clemson, why go try and maintain what somebody else has built when you can stay put and maintain your own legacy.

Then again who knows ... "when mama calls you home..."

I think he has it too good to leave now. The only other ACC coach worth a shite is gone now. His in state rival is trash.

Easy conference

they basically have a reserved seat at the CFP for a while now. They're lapping the field in the ACC right now

I used to think so but Clemson has a cupcake schedule and easy path to the playoffs in the ACC. Why sign up now to go through the crushing SEC West and then have to face UGA or UF in the SECCG

And be in a living hell from what he has created at Clemson

He is clemson. Clemson football is now Dabo and the culture Dabo has brought in.

He will not be able to do that at Bama. The fit does not seem good to me

Why the frick would he leave to go coach at Alabama?

Tuscaloosa to coach under a shadow?

He's in South Carolina > Alabama.

I could see him moving to Miami or Austin, cool cities.

Doubt it. He built Clemson from a middle of the pack team and is worshipped there. He isn’t going to leave that to go be in Sabans shadow.

seems as if the majority of the LSU fan base wants him to stay at Clemson so bad that they've convinced themselves that he doesn't wanna be in saban's shadow

just like they convinced themselves that we had a shot against Bama in Tiger Stadium last year
