Hello,

I have rounds steaks I need to eat this week. What is your favorite method for preparing this cut? I’ve cooked them a few ways (fried them, crock pot) but I’d like to know what you prefer.

I’m considering wrapping them in bacon, cream cheese, jalapeños.

I searched both forums but would prefer to have the outdoor boards thoughts.

Fry dat. Or fry dat and cook down in a gravy. I’m not a big fan of tenderized steaks on a grill.

The internal temperature of something 1/4” thick is going to be the same as the external.

The older I get, the simpler I get with cooking deer meat. Salt, pepper, fire does a lot with a little. Just don't overcook it.

I either fry mine, grill em wrapped in bacon with cream cheese and jalapeño or just eat em raw. Depends on the mood I’m in

I went this route. It’s deff a mans meal. Not sure I would serve it this way to lady friends. My steaks appear to be tenderized

That's 1/3 and 6-8 hours longer than I cook mine.

This board has now jumped the shark

We are searing to medium rare and slicing thin arse round steak now?

Either fry it, cook it in rice and gravy, or tenderize it even more and make pepper steak fajitas

Why do so many people do this with deer meat? I can understand doing this with duck or something with a gamey flavor.

I ended up smoking about 3 lbs of tenderized round steaks. I am pleased with the out come!
