Is anyone actually playing Red Dead Online?

the posse thread has 1 user on ps4 and like 2 on xbox. me and my buddies been playing quite a bit the last 2 or 3 nights and while the gunplay is pretty awful i still feel like its pretty fun if u don't try to take it serious. normally lobbies only fill up like 13/16 so if anyones actually playing i'll add whoever and we can go shoot shite together and save up gold bars for when i'm high enough level to actually buy something worthwhile
also, made a posse with camp in Bayou Nwa named the Bayou Bengals
so if we ever get 8 members we can body the swamps and take over Saint Denis until we get bored

Nope. Played it a bit and haven’t touched it since. Not enough to do. There are so many good games coming out Q1 2019 that I didn’t want to get invested in it and then quit.

we mostly stick to the showdown stuff but yeah they have so much potential that its probably smarter to wait 2 years til they flesh it out to dive in. i have to play enough to hit rank 50 to get platinum on the game and plus its a fun way to shoot the shite

This isn’t really a surprise. GTA online was very similar for the first six months or so.

I played maybe an hour or so and then I quit. I’m pretty burnt on rdr2, spent a lot of time in story mode, just didn’t feel like playing online.

I just really didn't enjoy auto aim in the multiplayer. The single player it was fine. Not sure I would play it online much as the single player was just that good

I'm level 49, should be 50 tonight.
I pretty much only play showdown large. You are right, can't take it seriously. Just try to kill people and have fun.
While there isn't much to do outside of showdown, I am still having fun getting better and grinding out card ranks. I have Slow and steady 3, Peak Conditioning 3, Eye for an eye 2, Strange Medicine 2, Unblinking eye 2. Working toward Unblinking eye 3 for deadeye generation.
Also theorycrafting a build: Focus Fire 3, Peak Cond 3, Landon's patience 3, Eye for an eye 3. I am trying to find a springfield rifle combo that gives 1 shot to the body. Peak Cond 3, Express ammo take most people down to like 10% health on a body shot, so I am hoping adding LP and Focu fire make up that other 10%. If it works, I think that will be the glass cannon build.

Played the first week then stopped. Just wasn’t enough to do, we did all the missions first week then got bored with the rest. I’ll come back to it when they add the second set of missions

There is nothing special about it. Seems similar to the showdown series to me.

This is mainly why I don't play it. I just started it this past week. I have no guns or anything and I get wrecked repeatedly anytime I go near any city. I don't get mad, but it definitely isn't fun.

Same for me. Played it about 4-5 hours a few days after it went live to get a few of the achievements, never plan on touching it again.
Found it extremely dull.
In fairness I was very burnt out on RDR2 after playing the single player campaign for at least 100+ hours.

I only play story mode once every week or two so that's plenty fine for me. I really have no ambition to play online any time soon.

Battle Royale games suck, but it is a very simple concept. R* somehow managed to make it suck even more. Played exactly one match. After that I went back to playing showdown series large. Currently lvl 61, have 6 maxed out ability cards, loving the standard pvp except for the Tall Trees map, which can suck my ballsack.
