Rust on Remington Shotgun. Advice

I got an early 2000's 11-87 premier a couple years ago and the blueing is about completely wore off. If the humidity gets above 10% in the house the whole gun rusts. I don't want to get a new gun this is my old faithful. Somebody mentioned Parkerizing earlier but I want y'all opinions. What works? I'm in this gun less than $400 FWIW. Mid 20's now hoping this can be grandpa's gun one day. TIA

Guy I used to duck hunt with sprayed his down with bedliner. It definitely didn't rust but weighed almost fifteen pounds unloaded.

It will never rust again with ceracote and it’s going to be close to the same price IF you can find someone to blue it. Moly coted my sbe barrel 20 years ago and it’s still going strong.

I have one that is my late grandmother's. It flooded in her house in hurricane Harvey. I cleaned it the best I could and I'm taking it to someone to have it cerakoted. It's the only thing that's gonna fix it..

I have used those bluing kits like Casey or the ones Brownwell sell on older shotguns before with no problem
I have a 1987 1187--the year they made them I think and that gun has had thousands of rounds through it.
It seems heavier than the newer 1187s and the WalMart 1187s they sold a few years ago were nothing like the quality of mine.
A few years ago I had a gunsmith take it all the way apart and clean it and replace any parts he thought should be replaced. I think he changed that little o ring and the leather piece in the gun (may not be leather anymore). Nothing else. His cleaning did make it cycle much faster. He put all the steel pieces in a sonic bath of some concoction.
Those are really darn good guns.

how much does it cost to have a gun cerakote vs. reblued ?

Cerakote is the best option. Another option not quite as durable but can be DIY is duracoat! They now have rattle can type application that has the Hardener in the can no need for a sprayer. Everyone raves on the google about it may try it myself on the next project.

I had a gun duracoated a season or two back and it’s already showing wear. Grant it, I hunt with that gun a lot. If I were to do it again, I’d go with cerakote. Years ago I had priced having an older .22 I have reblued at gun shops. The prices were high and basically every one I called said I would have to wait until they have quite a few to do otherwise they wouldn’t mess with just one gun.
