agree that they would be able to recruit better athletes were they in the SEC. the question would be could they get guys that UF FSU and Miami also wanted or would they have to settle for second tier SEC players that may only be a little better than what they have now

Miami's trending down. They refuse to invest in their program.

UCF could usurp them in the pecking order if they moved to a P5 conference.

With Milton maybe
last seasons team, certainly. Probably 6-2.

This year's team with Milton is winning 4-5 as well, definitely more than 3.

A couple years from now they will be just a memory.

I could actually see them being like a Boise St., but a little bit better bc of the talent pool. Florida is a talent rich state and if they can get those 3 stars that Florida, FSU and Miami may not want and a couple of 4 stars each class or so, they can be a decent team and have sustained success in the AAC.

We get 2 million a year in TV money. Give us SEC money and P5 status and let’s talk.

I actually agree with you.

Isn't UCF the largest school student wise in the country? It's not like they don't have the resources to have a legit football program. Not to mention in one of the most talent rich states.

Get into a P5 conference and I can see them easily surpassing Miami and becoming a force eventually.

What everyone attacks y'all for though is thinking you're there now.

I do think talent-wise they are at about the Ole Miss level, good offense, good QB (the first string guy is better than the guy that played today) and not that much talent on D.

The difference being they have created a culture of winning at their level the last two years and expect to win even when faced with some adversity, and they I am sure expected to win today.

They did beat Auburn last year, but I think their D was better last year and Auburn was uninterested.

I think they would have a record similar to Ole Miss's if they played in the SEC and I think that expectation of winning every game would have disappeared quite early.

Without Milton, they lost to us, lose to Bama, probably Georgia, after that they would be competitive in the current SEC. The SEC is not as dominant any more as much as we would like to believe. Parity exists in CFB now.

Not necessarily true. UCF has similar athletes now that the bottom feeders in the SEC typically get, and not sure that would change much if they were in the SEC. Assuming they were, they wouldn't be winning double-digit games, and more than likely would finish no better than .500 on a yearly basis. They might recruit marginally better because of the SEC effect but doubt they ever beat Bama, Georgia, LSU, Florida, Auburn, etc. on players of any significance. Look what happened to Missouri and Arkansas. Arkansas has had some hit-n-miss success, and Missouri has finally somewhat broken through this year, but neither program is what they were when they were in the Big 12 and Southwest Conference.

Only if they got to play the weak teams early in the year. They don't have depth to compete for an entire season at this level.

Not that you'd really want it, but enjoy your American Athletic Conference title guys. That's every bit as legitimate a claim as UCF's "natty" a year ago.

As a Auburn fan, thank you for taking care of business with these bozos (job my team couldn't get done). I was never bitter over that loss (saw it coming), just ridiculous what UCF was trying to read into it.

On any given day they could beat anyone but Bama. Quit acting like the SEC is some magical universe where only the best players in the world can survive. Outside of Bama we are all beatable.

But that wasn't the question moron. On any given day, Vandy can beat you too.

That doesn't mean there will be a bunch of those given days in a season

They would perform poorly. They would suffer badly from lack of talent depth, so they would be forced to play cupcake teams to artificially inflate their record (like bama does). Wait UCF already plays cupcakes to inflate their record--nevermind, UCF would be exposed for all NCAAFB to see and then fade away.

No.

They are a fast team just not physical.

Even if they were to be in the SEC they do not have the money, prestige, or distance from UF, Miami, or Florida State to get the players needed to compete.

The everybody gets a trophy days are over for this team.

Beating Memphis and other rent a win university’s does not make them NCS material.

NOT TALKING of " On any given day"

they would not stand the weekly punishment

their only hope was to beat LSU and continue winning next year.

from now on ... WINNING is not enough, they need a better schedule.

The score does not reflect the game, nor does it show the number of LSU players out.
