I'll let you read this story. LINK

Here are some of the occupations in this article:
Park Ranger, custodians, security guards, housekeepers , federal building workers , chair of liberal arts College,
certified car seat installer, housekeeping assistant and arts administrator.

The take away from this story is get a job in a field that matters, get a degree in a field that matters. I understand people lose their jobs sometimes and companies downsize but when your a certified car seat installer or an arts administrator complaining that you can't save money then i kinda don't feel sorry for you.

Either that or you can also be the very best at what you do in just about any profession. Both is better.

Line cooks notoriously work long hours for very little pay but I bet Gordon Ramsey isn't living paycheck to paycheck. Same for athletes, there are lots of NCAA football players who never amount to much after college.

certified car seat installer

The people making jokes about this obviously don’t have kids or have never bought a certified car seat. Installing them is nothing like the regular ones from Walmart which is one of the reasons they are so much safer. You can buy your $100 jobs and put your kids life on the line but the $1500 we spent on the seat + instillation is the reason I rest easy at night.

frick that shite. Find a lower rent, and a longer commute if necessary. Also, if things are tight, why have the third kid?

I hate it for these people that they are in such a financial bind but a lot of this is on them because of a lack of education, getting an education in a field that doesn’t command much pay, or living somewhere like Los Angeles that has an absurd cost of living. My family and I have everything we need plus a lot of extras we just want. Also have substantial savings. But that’s because wife and I are both educated and have virtually no consumer debt.

Yep. But you can make better choices. If the Harrisons (above) would move and shave $225 off of their rent, and he has to drive an extra 40 minutes each way, well that's still a WIN because there's $2,700 more per year in groceries. (minus, maybe $250, in additional fuel, etc.)

You spent 1500 dollars on a car seat and couldn’t even figure out how to put it in?

It’s straps. Basic, fricking, straps.

Do you have someone certified tie your shoes too?
