Was gonna use one to plant a patio corn stalk.
As in a single corn plant. Corn needs to be planted in bunches to produce corn. The denser an area is planted the better for the corn. A 20 x 20 ft. area is better than one or two long rows.

I used leave from the neighbor's oak tree I cleaned up as mulch for the inside the pen walkway and may use some as mulch in the garden as well.
I live in N.O. in the Mid-City area and getting oak leaves is never an issue for me. Just yesterday I scored 8 large trash bags full of them that would normally be heading to the dump. I put some in my compost pile, but the rest will be used between my rows after I lay down a layer of cardboard I've got from the local supermarkets. That helps with moisture retention and also keeps the weeds down. The side benefit is by the fall, all that stuff will be well decomposed and I'll just till it all under for my fall planting.

It will acidify your soil, I believe, as well.
With the oak leaves all over my yard, I'm gonna say that's not true. My pH is at 7.3 in my yard, and I have 3 water oaks and a live oak. Also 2 pecan trees.

My big boys and celebrities are not doing well in this cold and then wind. But my sam marzanos are going nuts. This is first time Ive done sams by recommendation of a family member in another state. I hope they arent a cool weather tomato

The celebrity plant i planted last month is starting to flower well, but ever since this wind kicked up its produced some really janky looking leaves ha.
My other newer tomatoes have a little wind damage. Some leaves’ tips are dried out/shriveled. I pruned off the worst, but I’m thinking they’ll be fine. The plants are growing well and all have really bushy, healthy growing tips.

I lost one of my San Marzanos to wind damage. That's my go to canning. I may have to replace it with a regular Roma.

I saw some San Marzanos at Home Depot in Broussard...... Or maybe it was Lowe’s in Carencro? One of them. I know I saw some.

Really? I've never seen it in the stores. Btw, you going to P&P tonight?
Posted on 3/15/19 at 7:14 am to LSUlefty
Yep, I considered getting some to replace the Supremo Roma’s I lost to the freeze. That was the first I had ever seen them in store. I ended up getting one called Garden Salsa instead.
I’m going to try. Depends on work and if I have to end up picking up my kids this afternoon.
ETA: Correction. It was called Fresh Salsa Roma Tomato

I planted 2 San Marzanos last year and had terrific results

no, I believe it's 6 or 9 plants. It was a pack of seeds I bought from Burpee. Supposed to be "patio corn" to grow in a pot. I just thought it would be cool for my kids to see grow. Not enough property to make a row garden

Better give a good shake once tassels appear. That's not very much pollen in the air for corn.

Anyone in need of leaves and that brown stuff from oak trees for use as mulch or mixing into soil?
Just drive down Roosevelt Mall in City Park, there's tons of it. Looks like it would be good for a garden.

I've filled up my pickup truck at that very place many times over the years. And before the police horse stables had to change their dumping of horse stall waste, I was getting all the stable waste from them I needed for my compost pile.
Use to cart it to the back of the property and just dump it but now they have to dump it in one of those towaway containers and every bit of trash goes in there now. So it's too hard to pick through.

Does this look like wind damage to you baws? I think it is, but would like other opinions.

I’m sure you can swing by the crescent city stables near the zoo and they will give you some.

Not sure if it's this, but look up Verticillium Wilt.

I've been there before and they are often kind enough to use their little front end loader to fill my truck. I slip the guy a few bucks and I'm happy and he's happy. Besides, all they do is have it hauled off to be disposed of.
There's also a privately owned small stable on River Road right past Rivershack Tavern heading toward the Huey P. They take their stuff across the levee and dump it in the batture, but I think the patrol units that work that area would frown on me running my truck across the levee and bike path to access it. There's probably tons of it and the old stuff is surely composted very well and ready to use.

Eh I don't think it's wilt or fungal. The plants seem happy and they're already flowering. I've just got some leaf tips that are curled up like that after all the wind.
