Let's say the trade is:

AD and Hill for Hayward and:

Scenario A: Jaylen Brown and picks 12, 13, 16, 27 and Boston's 2020 pick

Scenario B: Tatum and the 16th pick

Which do you take?

Depends on what the new GM wants to do, slow build through the draft or stay competitive...

If you want to stay competitive you take Tatum and the pick, in this scenario if I know for sure that's where the picks are falling, I take Hayward and Brown, and possibly consider trading Jrue for more picks also.

Is Dell still the GM? I dont trust him with all of those draft picks... Leaning towards what looks to be a sure thing in Tatum

Is this something thats been dicussed?

A.

I would trade a couple of the #1s for 2020 #1s.

I take Tatum and 16 over Brown and 4 more scratch-offs. With 4 of the 5 picks being in the same year the odds of you both finding and developing a Tatum level talent are pretty low.

If Gentry and Dell are in Nola I could care less.

If they are both gone then A always.
Tatum won't sign on and we will be in this fricked up situation again.

Not true. It's very rare that max level players don't sign their 2nd contract. It only happens when there's a dispute over their max worthiness like with Greg Monroe. That won't be the case with Tatum. For his 3rd contract we could be back here again, but that's a long ways off.

What do you think about Dallas as an "out of nowhere" team that trades for AD? Dallas can strip down to basically Barnes/AD/Jordan and $35-$40 million in cap space to fill out the roster. More money if they want anyone more than Barnes/DJ. They can easily strip it bare Big 3 Miami style. The Pels would get Doncic, Smith Jr., Powell, a filler contract and picks.

Cuban gets to build a potential contender level team immediately and the Pels get something good enough to be a solid playoff team now and a player in Doncic that has as much star potential as anyone they are likely to draft in the next 2-3 years.

Me personally I would go with B just because of Tatum. But Answer this, Dont you think this team fully healthy is a dangerous team. We started off hot when we were healthy... now I do agree they haven’t done well staying afloat while everyone is hurt. I would think AD knows how well we played when we were healthy and I think he is holding out on his decision until we are healthy.

Theres around a 0% chance Dallas thinks about moving Luka, even in a deal for AD

I’d take brown and the picks, as well as a new gm and coach.
If Hayward gets back to himself next year, you find simply 1 really good player with those draft picks, and you have a coach that can actually coach, we’d be a good team. If you draft Hilton Armstrong and Cedric Simmons again, then we are screwed.

I’d trade Niko for a first as well. Maybe you can trade some of those 1sts for a top 5 pick. We’d probably continue to suck this year so our pick would be top 10.
So a top 10 pick, 3 picks in the teens, 2 in the late firsts and a late firsts next year, it would be hard to frick that up. And you’d still have a solid core of Jrue/Hayward/Brown/Randle.

I think it would be crazy to say he is off limits, but I could see them wanting to give up less if he was involved.

Tatum 10 times out of 10.

This is the NBA not the NFL. You take the best player.

Scenario B, but why would Boston trade Hayward?

Wouldn't it make more sense for them to include Horford since AD would play the same position? Keeping Hayward would allow them to at least be semi competitive with Golden State when they meet in the championship.

This, and it's not even a discussion imo.

Cuban has a man crush on him, I can pretty much guarantee he will say he is off limits.

Dallas will be stripping down after this year to Doncic, DSJ and Barnes and $55M in cap space. Or Doncic, Barnes and whatever they get back in a DSJ trade.

I'd rather that over AD.

I’m more curious if a team of Holiday, Tatum, Hayward, Mirotic and Randle is really competitive. Of course everyone will say, AD is gone so that team is dead. But I bet they would win a good amount of games.
