Watch how quickly Dallas will build a perennial playoff team around Doncic. $50+M in cap space next year. And two years out the only players under contract are Luka, DSJ, Brunson, and Spalding.

The question is Luka vs. the package you can get from Boston or LA

I would still choose Boston and what I think they will offer over Luka. At best, Luka becomes 90% of Harden, and thats really good but I want some defense on this team. Some length and versatility that can switch, defend, etc.

But if Boston and LA don't bid for some reason, sure I would do that trade over letting AD walk.

It's pretty depressing that this franchise failed Anthony Davis and Chris Paul in 13 years.

I would trade AD for Luca, Harrison Barnes and this year first, yeah. Provided we know HB will re-sign.

Some fillers to make money work obviously. Im no cap expert, but that seems like a decent deal to me.

That's the thing. If they were to do a trade like AD for Doncic, a new GM to build around him would be a must. We cannot have Demps continue to destroy the franchise.

Dallas wouldn’t make the trade even if they knew AD would resign with them. Luka is already playing at a borderline all-star level and is on a rookie contract. AD would be the 2nd or 3rd highest paid player in the league.

All else being equal such as contract, desire to be here etc, I’d take Davis even taking into account their respective ages

ETA: but not by a mile or anything. Doncic can play
