Holy shite baws. I may be extremely biased as Spider-Man is the fricking G.O.A.T in my book but oh man this movie is already up there with The Lion King and Coco for me as one of the best animated movies ever. Has a ton of heart and well placed humor. Great meta humor. The soundtrack was fantastic. Voice acting, directing, visuals, characters, and just about everything else is top notch.
I think it is easily one of the best superhero movies of all time. Definitely the best Spider-Man movie ever. (Thanks Spider-Man 3 and Amazing Spider-Man 2, you died for this). IMO it should be nominated for Best Animated Picture and should win in that category but who cares if it doesn't because this is still a 10/10 film. I honestly can't find a single flaw in this thing.
The writing is excellent and the animation style (it's meant to look like a comic book movie come to life) is unique.
For all the Nic Cage lovers, he is fan-fricking-tastic in this thing. He's Spider-Man Noir.
Credit to Sony for FINALLY getting it right

Looked in the previews like they were multiple Spidermans in the movie, representative of many races, genders, and ages. Is it a big SJW slobfest or is there actually a reason for all those Spidermen/women/other.

Wondering the same.

Don't bother. No way you'll get past this and just enjoy the movie.

Spiderperson is a gender-fluid pansexual using the singular terms xi/xim, and is also handicapped and on the Autism spectrum.

Likely the former.

I'm a Conservative (as I presume all SJW "narrative" haters here are). I get tired of Hollywood pushing the SJW narrative but this movie is far from that. All the characters in this movie are backed by the comics. There are a ton of different versions of Spider-Man in the comics.
Peter Parker (like 10 versions), Miles Morales, Gwen Stacey, Penny Parker, and a few others hold the mantle of Spider-Man at some point.

This board is so predictable. It's sad.

If they have Spiderperson go to Antarctica to investigate the strange going ons there, then I'm in.

As long as it makes sense and isn't just shoehorned in for the sake of it.

he's the same idiot that was melting about Coco before even seeing it

I saw it last night and I was actually shocked that it didn't really push the SJW narrative. All these characters exist in the spiderman universe and they were all used perfectly.
The movie was awesome and I highly suggest giving it a chance if you enjoy superhero movies or really good animation.

In the 2 hours this movie played, I genuinely had zero thoughts about this and I'm the first person who jokes with my friends about how "diverse" movies and commercials have become.
Don't get pegged in the "this is SJW BS" mindset. It was an enjoyable movie and if you enjoy watching movies as for the most part I presume everyone here does, then you will have a good time watching this.
Save for Miles Morales and his family (Dad is Black, Mom is Puerto Rican) nearly every other main character in this is white.

what SJW narrative is there to push here?
it's just bunch of different characters that all became spiderman from different circumstances in different universes
I mean...there is a fricking pig spiderman

I'd consider myself fairly conservative. And people will ALWAYS find that the SJW narrative is being pushed if that's what they are looking for. Some of it is legit. But in a comic movie? C'mon. Just go see the dang movie and enjoy it. Quit looking for something to be butthurt about.

There was a time where I would have watched a movie like this and completely enjoyed it for what it was...but call me whatever you want, I now have a subconscious knee jerk reaction to all SJW social engineering BS. Think of it as the boy who cried wolf...eventually im just gonna stop believing the boy and in this case, im gonna assume that the movie creators are making social statements instead of entertainment.
You are probably right about the movie. I blame the SJWs who have taken over all of entertainment.
